twa
Even more reason for her to not be suspended. She has enough on her plate. Give her in school discipline and counseling. What do you think a 15 year old girl without supervision would do if she was suspended from school for the day? Go to the local public library and read independently? I believe most 'suspensions' are really just assignment to guidance schools set up for just that....at least here. they use in-school suspension, not a get out of school card like my days
StillUnknown
How about a lengthy suspension and send a tutor to her house for the rest of the quarter at the parents expense? And I'm not on the cops side at all. This type of aggression needs to stop. My original post was more about holding people accountable to their actions. Cop deserved to be fired. It was excessive. But she shouldn't get off scott free for her actions and the parents need to be responsible for her behavior. I can agree with that. I'm not at all saying she's is blameless, but in comparison to the cop, her actions are minor. Edited October 28, 2015 by StillUnknown
China
I will add, either it was fear of the officer, or it was they thought she deserved it, that the students just sat there mostly. Well apparently one girl who spoke up was also arrested, so I'm going with fear: SC student arrested for recording school cop’s violent assault on classmate sitting in her desk Niya Kenny, 18, told WLTX she was shocked and disturbed when she saw Officer Ben Fields flipping her female classmate out of her desk and pinning her to the ground for refusing to leave class. “I was screaming ‘What the f, what the f is this really happening?’ I was praying out loud for the girl,” Kenny told WLTX. “I just couldn’t believe this was happening I was just crying and he said, since you have so much to say you are coming too. I just put my hands behind my back.” Click on the link for the full article

Kosher Ham
I read that, and saw the report on it last night China. I perhaps should have stated a majority of the kids. I applaud Niya for having the guts to take the hit in this situation. Same as the potential ramifications for the kids that actually spoke to the media. Charges will be dropped. I am one that believes that many times the media exploits non-stories on many occasions. This situation is a tad different.
China
For a change of pace, let's see what's happening in Italy: Policeman caught on camera clocking in to work in underpants before 'going back to bed' Is this the world's laziest policeman? This is the footage that has embarrassed Italian cops as one of their number clocks on in his Y-fronts and then goes back home to bed, it is claimed. Pot-bellied Alberto Muraglia, 53, was caught on CCTV in his underpants that left little to the imagination. He is seen idly scratching himself before returning to his room which is in the same council building - a converted hotel - as the police station. He claimed being at home still counted as being at work because they were in the same place, it is reported. ... He used the same reason to explain why CCTV footage also showed his wife and his 13-year-old daughter clocking in for him. He was one of 195 San Remo officers investigated over a lack of productivity - a third of the total force, according to Huffington Post Italy. Kosher Ham
arrested for 'disturbing school', not for filming? It's actually not illegal to film as far as I know. Might get you banned, or kicked out of certain venues...but it is not illegal. Honestly, I don't think it is illegal anywhere in this Country. Honestly, I don't think it is illegal anywhere in this Country. Actually, I remember reading a few years back, there we're claims of a rash of cops arresting people for filming them. As well as cops trying to get video thrown out of court, for being illegally obtained. Apparently, in a lot of places, it's illegal to film or record someone without that person's permission. An adult male cop manhandled an unruly child while the class looked on in horror. He has been fired because the situation was so absurdly unacceptable that even a system steeply biased (read: corrupt) towards protecting their own couldn't excuse it. I wouldn't worry though, I'm sure he'll sue with the support of this union and get a new job at a nearby police department in no time.
Bang
Wellll.. it looks like the desk can move if you.. uh. DRAG it.Presumably, the school did not build the class around it, so theoretically it can fit through the door. And based on current physical laws, if a disruptive student is sitting in said desk while it is being dragged,, she will go along with it UNLESS.. and here's the part tha is still unproven by science.. she GETS UP. at which point the calculations show she can be escorted from the classroom. Crazy, i know.. but humanity never got anywhere by being afraid of risk. ~Bang Edited October 28, 2015 by Bang
DogofWar1
Yeah that vid. Only now when I watch it, I'm picturing you in the chair instead of her. And I still don't know what you're talking about. What he's saying happened didn't happen. The only strike from the girl is after the officer has her in the choke-hold and is lifting her up. Everything else is imagined, or somehow that strike after the choke is time traveling through a wormhole on its way from the screen to his eyes and happening before other things in the video that actually come before it. I'm not a scientist and/or the Doctor though, so I'm not the guy to ask about the mechanics behind the quantum tunneling or whatever that's happening.

Gamebreaker
Again, I don't know what preceded the video. So I have no way of knowing whether the amount of force used was warranted or not. There is absolutely nothing preceding this video that justifies what he did.
