TheGoodBits
This is right down the road from Jerry Falwell's Liberty University. Stay classy fundamentalists. http://www.wset.com/story/25061872/little-girl-taken-out-of-christian-school-after-told-shes-too-much-like-a-boy Sports, sneakers, and short hair; it's what makes eight year old Sunnie Kahle unique. It's also what had her removed from Timberlake Christian School. Her grandparents pulled the plug on her time there after they said she was no longer welcome. The family received a letter telling them that if their eight year old granddaughter didn't follow the school's "biblical standards," that she'd be refused enrollment next year. She's out and in public school now. Sunnie Kahle has short hair and a huge heart, and as far as her grandparents are concerned, she is a completely normal little girl. "She cries every morning to get on the bus, she cries when she comes home because she wants to go back to Timberlake Christian with her friends," said Doris Thompson. Doris and Carroll Thompson are Sunnie's grandparents. They adopted and raised the little girl and took her out of Timberlake Christian School when they received a letter from the school's K-8 Principal. "You're probably aware that Timberlake Christian School is a religious, Bible believing institution providing education in a distinctly Christian environment," read Doris from a part of the letter. The letter goes on to say that students have been confused about whether Sunnie is a boy or girl and specifies that administrators can refuse enrollment for condoning sexual immorality, practicing a homosexual lifestyle or alternative gender identity. The letter goes on to reference specific Bible verses that affirm these beliefs. More at link

s0crates
WWJD? I think not this. I have a fantasy that Jesus is real and the fundies will one day have to explain their utter ignorance of his teachings about love, charity, and non-judgement to him. Rocky21
Many in this Timberlake Christian School in Lynchburg go on to attend Liberty University. Falwell wasn't exactly a stranger to hypocrisy.
No Excuses
If it's anything like Liberty U. but for young children, it should be of no surprise. Some fairly normal people I grew up with ended up at the place for college. Safe to say, they are some of biggest nutjobs I know.

What ironic is that I am a conservative evangelical and I think Liberty is a joke of a college and full of a bunch of hypocrites. The "kids" there are just like other colleges except they pretend to be evangelicals meanwhile boozing it up like the world.
Bliz
That is just sad. Cruel and terrible, though I suspect self-righteousness and a definitive lack of humility would prevent these administrators from thinking they're doing anything other than "what's best" for the girl by insisting she conform to stereotypes. Though ironically getting her out of that environment and over to a place where she can be herself, free from ridiculous judgment of others, probably is what's best for her. Portis for 6
The article is full of leberal rhetoric, built for the people who know nothing about the foundation of marriage. The country is under attack by the gay mafia, no doubt who push there fantasy of equal marriage down our throat more than the criminal doctor who forces retallin down our kids throat for acting like a kid. Thank God this school is taking a stand on your liberal feelings!

Mr. Sinister
As a child of parents divorced 2x, I can safely say that the foundation of marriage was lost on a lot of straight people before the Gay Mafia started pushing their fantastical, misguided, or simply plain evil idea of freedom and equality for everybody (such a fantasy that is) down everyone's throats... What will you do if in 14 years or so if your currently 1 year old son or daughter comes to you and tells you they have been living with a secret, that they're gay? Will you disown them or will you love them as a parent should?

Mr. Sinister
I know you are at war with humanity Not really. , so please tell me the foundation of marriage with out googling it. I'm sure you can't. Well personally, I think character, trust, sacrifice, clear lines of communication, and a general acceptance that looks fade (and other, more important traits take precedent over it after a certain point) should be the foundation of any marriage. I don't really need to google that, because that was how I was raised, and that was what I learned from others mistakes. Shouldn't that be all that matters? Does someone need to acknowledge God/Jesus Christ/Allah/whomever in order to truly understand that? Does one have to be heterosexual to understand that? My child will be raised to be with morals, to which he will know you cat jump a car battery putting the negative terminal to the positive, and the positive, to negative. Catch my drift ? With that being said, I'll debunk anything else. But I'm sure I better stop before the police come, Thanks for the conversation....
