JMS
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/international/jad_that_not_gonna_fly_KDsQFz2eU4EdWOsiylHUwJ Aviation experts say new Iranian stealth jet is a pathetic hoax that can’t even fly From the loony regime that just figured how to shoot a monkey into space: Iran now claims it has its own homemade, radar-beating stealth fighter jet. But aviation and defense experts say the tiny one-seater looks like a toy and might not even be able to fly — calling it a “laughable fake.” Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad unveiled the Qaher F313 at a Tehran hangar last week and called it “one of the most advanced” aircraft in the world. But the experts said it was too small for a human pilot — and the controls and wiring looked too simple for a real jet. FLOP GUN: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Iranian brass proudly unveil the Qaher F313 — which US aviation experts dismiss as an embarrassing joke that doesn’t even have bolts or rivets. Ahmadinejad boasted it had “almost all the positive features” of the world’s most sophisticated jets. But among the features that seem to be missing are bolts and rivets — found on the simplest planes. “It looks like the Iranians dumped some rudimentary flight controls and an ejection seat into a shell molded in what they thought were stealthy angles,” reporter John Reed wrote in the journal Foreign Policy. “It looks like it might make a noise and vibrate if you put 20 cents in,” joked Andrew Davies of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute. “I can see (almost) how North Korea gets away with transparent nonsense due to isolation, but Iran has a population that’s much more switched on and connected, at least in the cities. SWFLSkins
hahhahaa, what a bunch of tools, showed my brother this and he could not even respond. He couldn't stop laughing. Anyone with any knowledge can look at this and know that if it were able to fly it would come apart at high speed. Nice flag though. smh.

Ah, but the American devils just don't see the elegance of their plan, why do you think they were giving the monkey astronaut training???
Bang
You'd think they'd get tired of humiliating themselves on the world stage. I really don't understand the mindset. They have to KNOW everyone knows it's a fake.. they have had so many other things like this embarrass them, but they never seem to notice. ~J
China
Seems to me to be a glorified version of those rides in front of grocery stores that you put a quarter in so your little kid can rock back and forth pretending to fly for a couple of minutes. DaGoonie55
ya know, for the sake of all this is holy, I hope this is a fake. It certainly resembles a remote control toy made of plastics. I wonder what skunkworks thinks about it?

And I don't think prop planes could ever be stealthy. ---------- Post added February-8th-2013 at 01:22 PM ---------- BEAST I liked the way they used the camera angles there... Whenever they showed the pilot it was a tight angle so you couldn't get a real idea of perspective / how large the plane was... Whenever they showed people standing next to the plane, they were standing back a ways and the camera used telescopic lenses to make them appear smaller and the plane larger. Not to mention the manual flight control on a plane which by design would need fly-by-wire controls. (See control stick) Looking at this photo, my guess is that the marker light at the end of the wing has a larger radar signature than the F-22. Looking at the canopy seal, this gap alone would throw off a huge radar return, not to mention that at super sonic speeds it would rip apart. Oh, and the air intakes.....laughable, way to small for anything close to super sonic or even subsonic speeds. Plastic, plus there is zero attempt to diffuse the exhaust in order to reduce its thermo-signature. My guess is that the whole thing is hollow. Not to mention the huge downward angled winglet things. They probably give off a huge signature. If you notice on the F-22, F-117, B-2, and F-35, the wings are as flat and horizontal as possible. Based on a 1996 prototype from Boeing, which lasted 3 years. http://www.malaysiandigest.com/tech/246121-behold-irans-new-stealth-fighter.html Now look at how the canopy closes around the ****pit, notice it just rests against the fuselage, no locking mechanisms at all. Compare that with the F-22 Now, look at the canopy, stealth planes need coating on the canopy otherwise the pilot's helmet would return a radar signature, here's a look at the F-22 under certain lighting, now scroll back up and look at the plain clear plexiglass canopy. Heck, their canopy is barely more advanced than a P-51.

DaGoonie55
So fake! ... My guess is that the whole thing is hollow. ASF, from your post I take it that Skunkworks saw the picture and couldn't breath for 20 minutes. < In that it is a joke of a mock-up aircraft at best> The lengths people go to for acceptance. <The Iranians want to be taken so seriously, that they would create this mock-up, promote it as the next best thing - even if those 'in the know' would know better. Not a comment about you or your knowledge base on the subject. From my viewpoint, I was impressed that you could spot the inconsistencies so easily.> My apologies for not fully stating my position and leaving it to interpritation. The thing would probably fly for five minutes before it dropped out of the sky. Also, the lack of a heads up display is the biggest giveaway that this thing probably doesn't fly at all, and if it does, it never will in combat. greenspandan
i like how the floor is about 4 inches below the seat, so that a pilot's thighs and knees obscure all the "instrumentation".
