Obamacare...(new title): GOP DEATH PLAN: Don-Ryan's Express

Absolutely monstrous that some are "no" votes on this because it's "not conservative enough." Again and again we see that the long con of the Reagan "revolution" is to persuade people that government as such is the enemy. The basic social goods of a decent society are therefore identified as "handouts," "socialism," or pretty much just pick your bumper sticker.

I wonder what would be "conservative enough"? I mean you can't just hand people a First Aid kit and see "good luck, mate" because that's "socialism" too.

Where is the outcry when "big government" fills your pothole or delivers your mails?

And nobody ever took to the streets about fines for no auto insurance?

These guys ain't even trying to hide it. If you have a pre-existing condition, get bent. Dems should be running ads with anything that can constitute a pre-existing condition. Might be less abstract when people realize their health is on the line.

Quote

“We know why those premiums doubled,” he opined. “We’ve done something with our health care system that you would never think about doing, for example, with auto insurance, where you would require auto insurance companies to sell a policy to somebody after they crash their car.”

“States that have… guarantees for preexisting conditions, it crashes their markets,” he continued. “It causes the markets to collapse. It causes premiums to skyrocket."

Convinent that he doesn't mention that everyone typically has car insurance which keeps the premiums down.

He also conveniently forgot to mention that comparing somebody who has an existing medical condition with somebody who crashes their car is stupid.

I'm a Republican and believe there should be a mandate...never understood the argument against one.....that does not mean single payer or government run care.

I also don't believe the private insurance should cover pre-existing conditions......that's where the government comes in...the sick and elderly should be covered by the government....and having a mandate should help with that......we also need tort reform and the ability to buy across state lines.....create more competition.

I'm not sure this exists now, but what about creating an association for groups of people?    for example, construction workers association;  there must be millions of construction workers....you get all these insurance companies to bid to get them as a client.....I'm not sure if Unions already have this?     But there must be groups of people that aren't in Unions that can pool together

Gee, what a great idea about groups! Oh wait...they already do that with associations. Plus I get my supplement insurance through AARP.

So like Medicare, it covers some things and I buy supplement insurance to cover what Medicare doesn't.

Are there more groups they can add?    Maybe create some new ones?

Hasn't the entire "allow people to buy insurance across state lines" as some kind of fix been debunked already?  I hear people repeat that line all the time.

These individuals who want no regulations better hire attorneys to check out their policies. Every single one will be different, cover different things, not cover others.

Stupid people.

Are you saying the "Invisible Healing Hand" isn't a good plan?
