Tulane Skins Fan
Here's some Nats stats thus far:Offense Runs: Tied 12th (45) Hits: 2nd (102) Doubles: T-8th (19) Triples: T-22nd (1) Home Runs: T-25th (6) Strike Outs (bad): T-28th (85) Batting Average: 9th (.258) Defense: ERA: 1st (2.08) Inning Pitched: 1st (104.0) Runs: T-3rd (30) Earned Runs: 3rd (24) Strike Outs: 1st (108) Home Runs Allowed: 1st (2) Walks: T-21st (36) Opp. Batting Average: 1st (.195) WHIP: T-2nd (1.06) Our pitching stats are dominant... Our offensive stats need work. We have to make more of our opportunities. Team stats make more sense when only comparing within the NL. Because of the DH, rankings don't make much sense. StillUnknown
Its amazing Ankiel could nail that pitch for a strike, yet couldn't come close when he was a pitcher.
KDawg
Team stats make more sense when only comparing within the NL. Because of the DH, rankings don't make much sense. Disagree, but only partially. They still give you an idea of where you are sitting, even if they aren't exact. For instance: We're top tier in ERA, innings, runs, earned runs, strike outs and opponent BA. We're middle of the road to below par on walks allowed, etc.
GoSkins0721
Its amazing Ankiel could nail that pitch for a strike, yet couldn't come close when he was a pitcher. Never thought of it that way. Yeah, that really is funny

Warhead36
Give me more Homeruns (morse, harper) and less walks and this team should be a contender wire to wire. What's wrong with talking a lot? Moneyball has proven walking = high OBP = high correlation to wins.
MattFancy
Give me more Homeruns (morse, harper) and less walks and this team should be a contender wire to wire. Walks are just as good as hits! Plus it makes the other pitcher throw more pitches. Win-win!
DCchillin89
I meant our pitchers walking the opposition. My b. I'm a Big moneyball guy!
Slateman
Walks are fine. Especially given how much this team struck out last year.
skinfan2k
So me a buddy were talking about 90 wins at work. If u break the season into 10 game stretch. you would only need 5.5 wins per 10 games. thats crazy if you look at it this way. if u win 6 games out of every 10, u win 113 games!! Skins199021
nats pitching is just dirty, and loving me some werth Im a sox fan and Nats fan. I wanted Werth so bad because he is good and will age well. Plus he actually walks and has power unlike crawford
StillUnknown
Werth is actually earning his keep this year, LaRoche as well.
TaylorPickSix
So far so good tonight! 1-0 Nats after 4. Back to back clutch bloop hits between Werth and Laroche with 2 outs.
GoSkins0721
Werth is actually earning his keep this year, LaRoche as well. Now we need to see Zim start to heat up with a few HRs and this will really be fun to watch.

StillUnknown
Its like our starting pitching is playing a game of "anything you can do, I can do better". This is fun to watch. Hopefully the offense can get him more than 1 run of support though.

These young guys are having some fun and doing some serious concentrating out there on the mound. A couple of times Gio was talking to himself on the mound. Time for Clip to hold it down for Gio. skinfan2k
funny thing is that the astros have JZ tomorrow lol! i feel sad for any team having to face the big 3 in a single series. I remember the good old days of having 1 pitcher and having to swing back around to see him again lol
