SonnyandSam
Ryan O'Hallaron tweeted ryanohalloran Ryan O'HalloranBill Leavy on the whistle for Eagles and #Redskins Sunday. His crew has called 14, 12, 16 and 12 penalties in four games this year. Just what we need....a bunch of whistle happy refs blowing personal foul calls against Orakpo and Kerrigan for sacking Vick. You just know they are going to protect his ass. ****!
Champskins
ill pay someone to put doo-doo on the tip of their whistles... at least that way ill be laughing hysterically when they do use it
Taylor4Life
Well, on the other hand they are less likely to overlook holding, right? This could go either way for us. Our game plan is likely to be pressure from the edges on defense and smash mouth football on offense, so hopefully we won't see Orakpo getting dragged to the ground while Vick runs a 24 yard TD. @DCGoldPants
what kind of penalties have they been calling? The Philly OL holds a lot with Vick dancing around buying time.
Hitman21ST
The big question is what kind of penalties. Any info on how many holding/roughing calls they have called?
Gibbs Hog Heaven
This doesn't bode well for Philthy. Their mistake ridden. And it's been vets giving away the penalties. Hail.
Champskins
I see at least 8 false start penalties from the Eagles OL... Two new starters at Tackle, and theyre backups... they will be trying to get a jump on Orakpo and Kerrigan
sportjunkie07
yep, i already figured we'd have at least 4 roughing the passer/personal foul type of penalties. probably more now. theyd better make sure they are calling the holds.

SonnyandSam
As long as they call the damn holds on Orakpo. He still gets held way too much around the neck on his speed rushes. I think that is why he has been doing more bull rushes lately. Don't know which games they did. I think they did the Bears game when they jumped off side often....but those were deserved. I seem to recall watching one game with his crew when a lot of personal foul calls were called against DL who allegedly hit the QB's helmet. At least two replays showed the DL did not even touch the QB's helmet. There were other questionable calls involving the QB; even the Fox crew was questioning the "protection" of the QB. I think it may have been the 2nd or 3rd game; sorry..don't recall the teams....it wasn't the Redskins.

jazzy1
Bodes well I think Rak will get some hold calls then I like a tight whistle with rak rushing.
skinzplay
If Andy Reid is smart, he encourages Vick to "sell" the blow to the head whenever he's hit or sacked by a Redskins defender. There are often nickle-and-dime pass interference calls, and they do like to call the offensive variety. I wouldn't put too much stock in the number of penalties called per game; you have to consider the games that crew worked ----> Vikings/Chiefs, Bengals/Browns, Jags/Panthers, and Seahawks/Steelers. This crew had a bye last week.
Truant
I think we're the least penalized team in the NFL, so I don't see how this is bad news. We are typically disciplined and we're playing at home, so noise shouldn't be a factor. C'mon, let's not complain about everything.
superozman
This SHOULD be beneficial to the 'Skins, which is always nice!
Rpredskins
I don't recall Orakpo ever being called for roughing the passer. If anything, a nosy ref helps us considering its a home game against a weak o-line, probably a very emotional eagles team, and their defense which commits lots of dumb penalties. Gibbs Hog Heaven
Talking of penalties, if Jackson doesn't wave for a fair catch, take the penalty and bury his punk ass so far into the turf they'll need the grounds crew to dig him out. One can dream, sighs. Hail. *Edit* In fact screw that, even if he does bury his ass regardless.
HOF44
Worse than calling lots of penalties they seem to call more against the home teams. Here is an interesting read on 2010 penalties. Link
NoCalMike
Everytime Vick rolls out, you could probably identify some type of holding going on, but the refs eyes are on Vick because of his penchant for taking off with the ball in his hands. B&GVol24
I agree that I think this will favor us. When it gets real loud I'm expecting to see a good bit of false starts on that young O-line.

SkinsFTW
I look forward to at least 1 "defenseless receiver" call on punt returners that can't signal fair catch.
LD0506
IMO if we saw a game where the refs were particularly tough and it did NOT result in us getting scrood it would be irrefutable proof of genuine change in the franchise, kinda like the breaking of the seventh seal. But then, I'm a cynic at heart, I know that if the zebras get flag happy we will suffer.
