justice98
Haslett supposedly used different looks. You actually hear that a lot from teams that run the 3-4, that they throw out so many different looks and fronts. But you can only mask somebody's weaknesses so much. Carter's been in a 3-4 twice now, and was woefully inadequate both times. I doubt he's gonna get a handle on it all the sudden now, even with Belicheck calling the shots. I don't expect to see him in the Pro Bowl but I think he can have some success there. Put his hand in the dirt and let him rush the QB. As a role player he should be able to do just that without having to worry about the coverage responsibilities of a 3-4 OLB. I'd imagine he will be lining up strictly as a DE on passing downs. Not a starter.

With the push from Ellis/Haynesworth/Wilfork, he could do some damage coming off the edge

Chris Worthy
So the Eagles are going the 2G Redskins... The Redskins are building a team like the successful teams do... And the Patriots are signing our old players.. The End of Days are here.

georgiaredskin
Maybe, just maybe... Our own End of Days are coming to an end. Yes...how ironic if they come to an end in 2012, when the *real* end of days is supposed to come.
Backpack3r
Great news for AC. He was always a class act here in DC. I still think we should have traded him when we made the switch to the 3-4 while his stock was high (or semi-high/decent). Maybe we could have gotten a 3rd for him? Maybe a 4th who knows. Anyway, good luck on the Pats, that team is one of the super bowl favorites.
Brandon Lloyd Christmas
Good chance Andre gets a ring this year. Good on him for landing with a winner. i will seriously throw up my organs ebola style if albert haynesworth goes to the pats and wins a ring while brady gets his fourth. like this is close to the cowboys winning it all bad. I understand, BLC (how ya doin' btw? ) but I only identify with the ill feelings towards Fat Ass. Unlike so many fellow ES'ers, I not only am not an NE hater, I actually have long found plenty to like football-wise with the Patriots organization, many of the players, and Belichick /Brady specifically. Now I have no real care about their winning or not, and I hate the fact that Al might play big for them (it's encouraging to my petty little soul that he's missed practice again), but I do hope AC finds a successful fit there--he deserves it, IMO. Mad Mike
Good chance Andre gets a ring this year. Good on him for landing with a winner. Agreed. Andre was one of my favorites while he was here. What a great team guy.
s0crates
It would have been best for Andre Carter to go back to 4-3 DE somewhere, but I am glad he caught on somewhere. I always have liked the guy.

s0crates
I've heard a rumor that NE is transitioning to a 4-3. I have not heard that. Do you have a source? The additions of Carter and Haynesworth would make a lot more sense if that is true.
MumboSauce
Wish Andre the best...good guy. I'm sure they will use him on spot duty well. He didn't have many moves but had a good year here in the past.
redskins55
If the Pats switch to a 4-3 with our old defensive players and dominate Shanahan will look like an idiot. However, I want Carter to succeed.
Trevor
The Pats plan on running a lot of 4-3 this year which will be good for Andre since he's terrible at trying to play linebacker. Unfortunately I can't root for him at all since he joined a team I hate as much as Dallas.
Chump Bailey
The Pats also run a 3-4, so it'll be interesting so see how hell be utilized. Reports are they're going to the 43 or some kind of variant thereof. I'm amazed AC has lasted this long without a 43 team signing him. He's an excellent DE. nimblehippo
As a 43 end he was in that bracket below elite - solid guy - nothing but good wishes for him, even if he does go to play for the pats.
