James Storm has signed with NXT.

I'd really to see them get AJ Styles in NXT though.

I would have like to have seen them get Styles too. He's probably got a better thing going at this point now being on his own though. Swap out the Kanes and Stings they've been throwing at us and give us Joe and Styles on the big show.

I actually think they're handling her well... Honestly, I look at the women's division and Sasha stands out to me as the woman with the most charisma and "it". Paige and Charlotte aren't far behind. Nikki Bella actually is in that class, too, which if you told me that two years ago I'd laugh at you.

The rest are all kind of "meh".

Nattie could be much more, but they handle her like crap. Alicia Fox isn't my cup of tea. Brie needs to work on her in-ring game and promo skills, Becky Lynch could be solid, but they have her playing sidekick right now (she should be a heel), Naomi is decent but meh... Tamina doesn't do a whole lot... And that's the whole WWE women's division at the moment.

I like Paige. She's strong for her size. Beck Lynch too. I like their skills. You can see why a somebody like Eva Marie can't get in any stories. These girls can't move now.

Wish they'd bring back Velvet Sky to team with her I think Husband in real like, Bubba Ray. Maybe be their manager or something.

They should've had Becky Lynch break free from PCB. Paige is already over, Charlotte's the champ, but they've got Becky standing around as the sidekick that doesn't talk. If not for the orange hair, she just fades into the background.

The way to get people over is to have them lose 50 percent of their matches.

Different generation though. People didn't really care for Cena winning all the time or Roman Reigns. Now it's like jumping all over the good guys they try to push is the thing to do.

The current WWE fans are idiots. And they are dwindling. The WWE is posting record low ratings trying to satisfy them.

They either need to re-train their fans or find new fans.

There are certain angles that never fail. Winning streaks are one of them. (Another one is a wrestler coming out of a large box).

Basically it looks like they are at a standstill with most story lines until Hell In a Cell, which they've promoted the crap out of it until they are blue in the face.

I liked the Reigns-Braun match.  I thought the New Day-Randy/Lunatic Fringe match was good.

They're just all over the Rollins-Demon and Lesnar-Undertaker thing right now.

I just don't think the current crop of superstars have the charisma, appeal or chops outside of the ring.  Some of the most interesting parts of the show to me, was when The Rock or Stone Cold would get behind the mic. I would laugh my ass off listening to them throw it down.

They are all pretty much dull, boring and lethargic trying to talk trash.  Hell, Brock Lesnar has someone talking for him.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of one male wrestler that I would consider great talking into the mic.  Maybe Rollins? Cena?

Check: I just thought of one, but he is creepy- Bray Wyatt.

I actually think the Divas do a much better job with Paige, Nikki and Charlotte to name a few.

How do we know if any of these guys are good talkers? They are reciting lines on a script they received 20 minutes earlier. Steve Austin is a limited actor. But he's an all-time great promo.

If they are going to force these guys to be actors, they would probably be better off hiring super-athletic theater majors.

Also, all the promos are too long.

Ric Flair and Dusty sold out buildings for 20 years by cutting two minute promos twice a week.

I just want to start off by saying, I have no where near the knowledge and memory of wrestling that you do.

Brave was saying how the ratings were down and I was just giving my opinion on what I thought why.  I just know what I see watching the program on Mondays and Thursdays. Most of them just don't have that "aura" with them like wrestlers in the past.

You are right that the promos are too long and there are too many.  I noticed they work in the "WWE Network" with just about every other sentence and like Monday with the Lesnar/Undertaker Hell in the Cell promo just went on and on.

I'm not sure what they can do to make it more popular.  I was just taking a stab at it.

With the WWE network, it really takes place of the PPVs.  You get the PPV live and it's only $10/month.  Plus all the content you get, pretty cool.

The way I look at the current model, you are getting the PPV for $10.  If you sign up for 6 months, so be it since that was the cost of one PPV through cable/satellite.  I hear ya Kosh, why not just make the PPV on cable/satellite $20 or $10, but I'd imagine that it comes down to price haggling between those companies and the WWE on the split.

I'd find it hard to believe that the vast majority of fans don't have an HD tv with an extra HDMI port they can plug a $20 Roku (or similar device) into and pay $10/month for the network and get the PPV.

I agree with trying to get on a major network, like Fox or CW, etc.  One that can be picked up locally by people that have cut the cable cord or those that have minimal programming packages.  And they need to cut down the total time of Raw to 2 hours and Smackdown to 1 hour.  It's just too much.

The issue is fundamentally this: You are not watching pro wrestling. The WWE is not pro wrestling. Pro wrestling as a thing doesn't really exist any longer.

The guys don't have auras because they are bad actors reading terrible lines by bad writers on a stupid live show.

Pro wrestling at its best has always been "Steve Austin as Steve Austin in The Steve Austin Show written and directed by Steve Austin. Vince McMahon, executive producer."

This nonsense today is Raw featuring Joe Anoa'i as Roman Reigns. Written by Stephanie McMahon. Directed by Kevin Dunn. Story based on an Odd Couple episode Vince McMahon watched in 1974.

There's only 3 million people at this point who are at all interested in this and 2/3 of them are probably under 15 and will lose interest eventually. The other 1/3 are weirdos who want MOVEZ and high spots and chant "This is awesome" at two guys cooperating on stunts.

Vince McMahon succeeded in his dream of turning pro wrestling into The Ice Capades. Of course, The Ice Capades is currently out of business.

I mainly watch to bust commercials during MNF or the Thusday games. Just like all sports/entertainment, it changes over the decades and the older crowd says "it's not like it was in my day."

BTW, I'm kind of in agreement with. Hope you don't think I'm trying to argue against you.

The product isn't what it is when I was a kid, but when you're younger, everything seems a little more magical. Sure, the mic-work isn't as good, but it's still sports entertainment and is a fun watch.

The WWE Network is actually pretty sweet. There's a prank show that Dolph does, Legends House is hilarious, Roundtable, etc etc. Plus the PPVs.

You know what a great prank was?

The Horseman following Dusty's car and then breaking his arm.

I'm not even being all that nostalgic. When I watch wrestling on Youtube, I almost always end up with Jerry Lawler - who is not someone I ever saw in anything resembling his prime. I lived 700 miles from Memphis, and I was checked out on wrestling when he finally came to the WWF as an announcer.

Despite the porno-level production values that Memphis and the endless supply of out of shape rednecks that made up the heel stables there, anything involving Lawler is just better than pretty much anything today.

(I actually tend to avoid Georgia stuff, because that's a case where my memories do not match the actual product. Except for the Piper stuff. Piper in Georgia is awe-inspiring. The upper card stuff in Crockett holds up. Jimmy Garvin versus million year old Wahoo....eh...not so much).

Also, there are terrible eras for all companies. 1990 WCW is horrifying. 1994 WWF is beyond awful. Late period Georgia is unwatchable. Once Memphis hits the early 90s, things get bleak. The last year of ECW is pretty bad. Anything in WCCW once Lance Von Erich shows up is just sad. Russo-Era WCW is terrible. I'm not a huge fan of Kevin Sullivan's booking in Florida once Dusty left.

Usually, at this point, the company either dies, you hotshot to prevent death, or you totally change direction. I'm not sure WWE can die. It feels like they've been hotshotting for 20 years, and I'm not sure they have the guy in the company that you can change direction behind, because I don't think their fanbase even understands what "the guy" is. They've trained the fans that it's perfectly okay to boo the top babyface for the last five years. It's weird.
