On Tuesday, the fast-food chain announced that it was "turning more than 14,000 McDonald's into Burger King restaurants." In fact, Burger King is debuting a McDonald's-themed deal. That's the infamous Menendez brothers, Lyle and Erik . They murdered their wealthy parents in August 1989 in Beverly Hills, California, then went on an obscene spending spree with their parents' money until they were arrested in March 1990. The photo used for the card was taken between the time of the murders and the arrest. Spending mom and dad's cash on courtside seats after murdering them? Priceless. (Check your old collection of trading cards to see if you have it. Boyce Harvey said he attempted to take advantage of the deal, which allows customers using the Burger King app to order a Whopper for only 1 cent if the order is placed from within 600 feet of at McDonald's, but the manager at Burger King told him the order wasn't showing up in the system. Harvey said he ended up making another purchase, but when he left he discovered he had been charged $1,093.91. He said his account did not have enough funds, leading to a huge overdraft.
