So if he is a poor man's version of Trevor Lawrence as a prospect --that is fine. Since Andrew Luck in 2012, I think Lawrence, Burrow, and now Caleb Williams made up the tier 1. I was never as big on Trevor Lawrence coming out as everyone else was anyway, and I feel like people are afraid to admit he hasn't lived up to the hype at all. Even if we throw away his rookie year because he had an awful coach, his play this year has been uneven, he doesn't come off as a leader to me, seems disinterested at times and doesn't elevate the people around him. Michigan's defense was pretty much equivalent to an NFL defense so it was a great test and Penix failed, no doubt. He's going to need extensive coaching to survive in the NFL.
