Not directed at you necessarily but all the rest who seem to want the team to lose to get a high draft pick for a potential franchise qb.

That ship sailed when we started winning again and then last night after beating the Eagles.

6 min to go in 3rd quarter when we kicked FG, put us up 23-14.  I was very frustrated that we didn’t just keep running the ball.  Consecutive pass plays, one which resulted in a sack, took away a TD finish for that drive.  I truly believe had Turner just kept running it after Gibson picked up 1st, we score, break their will, we go on to win even more convincingly.

thoughts?

Man, it is so hard to run in the red zone, and we’d been running successfully most of the game.  I understand the call, but I am sure when they were incomplete, I questioned it.  😂

Anyone but me NOT hate the name when we’re winning, especially against the undefeated Eagles?  I usually prefer just Washington but Aikman and Buck made sure it was the Washington Commanders.

So, who thinks Dan enjoyed the game?  🤣🤣🤣

You would think so but look at the amount of posts in the Eagles game thread from last night. So many fans who aren’t happy we won because Heinicke isn’t the long term answer.

I don’t want to see him ever again.  I’m not in the “Hive”, but the team seemed so flat with Wentz and he was awful.  It just appears to me that the players try harder for Heineke.

Remember all the stories about Wentz in Philly and the players not liking him. Maybe he’s more likable now but football to me can be such an emotional game and having someone who guys will run through a brick wall goes a long way. Taylor is that guy and unfortunately it seems like Wentz is not.

Has anybody contemplated that the team may not necessarily be rallying around heinicke as much as they're just playing better football mid-season like they've seemed to do all 3 years under Rivera?

We have sucked all 3 years to start the year, weren't we what, 1 and 5 last year?

I like the momentum we have right now and I'm extremely leary to mess with that but heinicke is not playing lights out and I think it's unfair to put the really bad start solely on wentz and claim heinicke turned it all around when in fact he started worse last year and the entire team is playing much better now than they were earlier in the year, especially the defense.

I agree and never thought he would be some savior here.  He was just meant to fill a spot until someone better was available.  I was so disappointed when I heard we signed him.  My Giants loving friend just couldn’t stop grinning.  He knew it was a waste signing.  I’m also thrilled Patrick rebuked us.  We need a no frills signing.  Nothing fancy.  Basically Heinicke with a stronger arm.

I agree to an extent. The defense is playing much better now and there is more commitment to a run game.

But I also do think that Heinicke does a better job than Wentz because the pass protection is so shoddy. Heinicke's mobility turns some sure fire negative plays into positive or at least neutral(like the botched snap which only resulted in incompletion, with Wentz that would have been a huge loss in yards or possibly turnover). And those few plays can be the difference between losing and winning.

This was a complete game.

More importantly, we found a long-lost winning formula by slamming the RB against their defense time and time again and launching some long passes from time to time.

If they play the remainder of the season with that playbook I'm all in. That seems like an adequate identity for this team. An identity we have lacked for god knows how long.

Unless you considering sucking an identity.

At some point the statistical anomaly wins have to to stop right?

The 7th lowest YPC with at least 45 carries since 2000 with a win. Nearly every win above and below them were more than 1 score games.

Yea but take into account we were converting multiple 3rd n shorts and short yardage TD's as well. I bet if you take those away the YPC looks different

Terry McLaurin watch: Heading into today he was 13th all time in Washington Football Redskin Commander Team History with 3,699 yards. Today he added 128 yards bringing him to 3,827. #12 is Henry Ellard with 3930 and #11 is Michael Westbrook with 4,280. He's in range for both this year. On this season McLaurin has 46 receptions for 737 yards.

It's not likely, but outside chance McLaurin surpasses Garcon at #10 too. Ever since Heinicke started, McLaurin is averaging 92.5 yards a game over these 4 games. His target rate is way up compared to Wentz.

If he keeps that pace for 7 more games that's 647.5 yards. Which would bring his franchise total to 4,474.5. Garcon is at 4,549. If McLaurin averages 103.3 yards per game over the next 7 games, he'll surpass Garcon. It's not likely, but it's not too far off his 4 game pace with Heinicke.

As serious as that video is, 1:08 to 1:14 is pretty under-rated with Cheeseman and his mini porn-stache half smirking and grinning in the background, not looking like he at all belongs in that locker room.  His last name being what it is just makes it better.

I thought porn star as well - snuck into the room in the chaos and cheesed his way in with the herd and ended up in the front row. Then I checked the roster to make sure that wasn't #54 Kurt Gouveia - the original team #54 porn stache.

We still need to see and find out if Howell is the long term answer first.

I think Cosmi deserves at least a star for this game also. I am not sure why Lucas started the last 2 games even though Cosmi didn't appear on the injury report but I think we need to get Cosmi more involved. Yes, he did struggle in pass pro before his injury but Lucas also struggled the last 2-3 weeks on that front. And Cosmi ist just such a menace in the run game.

Here he is just casually reaching around Fletcher Cox and then driving him back 5 yards to give Robinson an alley to run for 12 yards.

PFF gave him the third highest grade on offense for that Eagles game (73.8). His overall grade for the season is at 78.8 which ranks him 10th among all tackles per PFF. Most of that is due to his amazing run blocking.

If we want to keep running the ball effectively and control the game clock going forward, we need to start Cosmi.

After the Eagles first TD, I thought the same thing as everyone else "Here we go again". However, I was pleasantly surprised and I thought everyone (even TH) played a great game. I just wanted to say, that watching the Eagles on the sideline was...weird? At first I thought they were just being calm, waiting their turn, knowing they will win. Then it looked like Hurts was pouting on the sideline ala Cam Newton.

Anyways, I wanted to bring up the media for a second, they're making excuses for the Eagles. The most obvious excuse they're making is the missed facemask/TH hit (what was the flag on that?) at the end of the game. As for TH downing himself, they're saying its the right call, but the rule needs to be "looked at". Now some pundits are saying that the rule is the rule, but a lot are making excuses for the Eagles. Saying the defender tried to stop himself and intent should be enough, that TH did a "weird" kneel (there are only so many ways you can kneel...). Say what you want, but even if we don't get that penalty, they're not guaranteed to win, they still have to win. Almost all of these analysts also seem to fail to mention the two phantom PI calls the Eagles got, one of them leading to an Eagles TD.

The other thing I keep hearing from the talking heads is that losing was good for the Eagles. Now that they've lost, they don't have to worry about that pesky 17-0 potential record weighing down on them, keeping them up at night. Thank God that is over, now they can focus on REALLY winning games. THIS is the downfall of the Eagles, not because they lost, but because they refuse to look in the mirror and say "Yeah, WE lost". They would rather consider it a one off or a screw job by the refs than trying to get better, they feel they are good enough. Honestly, I was never really impressed by the Eagles, even watching the Viks play them made me wonder why the Viks wouldn't adjust for their very simple offense.

Philly came into game WAAAAYYY too confindent thinking that they, an 8-0 team, at home, on Monday night were going to whomp the Commanders again. I expect to see a sharp downfall for Philly over the next month and our stock to go up. After beating the "future champions", does anyone on our schedule scare you? Doesn't mean we're going to win, but are you afraid?

That was a fun game to watch.

All I can ask for as a fan, that the team shows up with effort and plays hard.

Monday Night the team played with heart.

hats off to these players and coaches for what they put on the field.

well done!

I mentioned this video before but for those who missed it. Not a big fan of replicating the chains ala Cousins but look at the beer he’s drinking. Busch!

I hope Cosmi gets back to starting full time with Lucas as the backup. Turner has played well recently and I was happy to have Norwell and Larsen playing despite being hurt. Continuity is such a key at the offensive line.

While he was active I could have sworn I saw his hand was taped up in a club for the previous games. I think the game vs the Eagles was the first time without it.

He was probably active in previous games for emergencies, but the game plan was probably not to put him out there since he could not hold w/ a club.

What a ****ing win. I was fully prepared to lose and just prayed that we’d play respectably…

We dominated TOP and kept the eagles offense off the field. When our D looked brutal early on I kept saying a big part of it was the offense was a 3&out machine. I really struggle to give credit to turner but if he came up with this gameplan because he knew the eagles were weak vs the run then fine, kudos. That said, I wish we had more than “run up the gut.” Run it outside once in a while, run a handful of RPO, try to keep the defense guessing. I don’t mind the run first gameplan, but boy this would be ugly if we faced a stout front.

As many of u probably did, I took immense joy in watching eagles fan reactions… obviously all of the chatter was about the reffing. Over the whole of the game, I’d say it was pretty damn even. The hold on the opening kickoff, the DPI on st juste, the OPI pick play which is flagged once per year…

the face mask was bad, but the hit on the heiny kneel was correct. Graham had a good 5 steps to pull up and just touch heiny. Sure he didn’t aim for decapitation, but in 2022, that has to be a flag every time.

hats off to slye, when was the last time the kicker affected the game that much for us?! (In a positive way)

the other factor in the TOP domination was the mounting frustration on the eagles sideline. Some, if not all of their mistakes in the 4th could be attributed to them trying to do too much from being on tilt.

heiny was a hero. Sure he floated one and sure he threw a bad pick, but he made so many clutch reads and tosses that it more than makes up for it. As long as he throws with anticipation he can make up for his weak arm strength. The guys clearly love him, it’s fun again to watch this team compete and a lot is attributed to… the MOXIE

longest post of my life. Cheers homies and homettes, what a time to be a fan of this team.
