  1. McCarthy is my pick also. He looks legit in every phase, maybe not spectacular in any one in particular, but just very solid all around. Daniels looks like RGIII Part Deux. I'll pass.
  2. I mean that's my point bro, there's already one of them already and he plays for the Ravens. And exceedingly rare QB that has long surpassed RGIII in any meaningful metric. That's why I said the safer pick would be just your "normal" NFL QB who can throw and read defenses and that's McCarthy.
  3. I know, right? The most important draft in decades. Expectation is tremendous. I get everyone wants JD to be the next Lamar. The FO is prob thinking the same thing. And yet the stench of RGIII still hangs heavy in this organization. Take McCarthy and be done with it. Safer pick.
  4. Absolutely man, until I see some clear improvement with this new group Imma keep remembering every fan that we just finished the worst season in history regarding our O-line. As someone who saw The Hogs, The younger Hogs, the Pathetic 98 Line, the Two Anchor System (Samuels & Jansen), The Dirtbags, and a bunch of other units who are best forgotten last year's effort is still seared in my eyeballs.
  5. i see the same thing. Daniels looks way to thin and can't imagine him absorbing a similar amount of hits as RGIII.
  6. Yes. Curiously enough the Ngata injury was a clear example of RGIII staying inbounds for no particular reason instead of just stepping outside the field. Bad luck caught up to him and to us since we're searching for our franchise QB (we never really believed in Cousins)
  7. More like Shanny rode the horse too hard. Those options-reads were going to fail sooner or later. And RGIII never learned how to slide, which made things much worse.
  8. It's a considerable culture change. You need new guys to develop new values and a new winning culture. So between the guys we just signed (and I'm the first to admit I hadn't even heard about half of them) and the upcoming draft the FO expects the fanbase to hear the message loud and clear. I reallllyyyy hope they succeed. Now about those uniforms and team name...
  9. I'm getting really bad RGIII vibes, which at least had more frame than this guy. He was an impressive athlete but we all know how that turned out once he entered the NFL. -- Can someone plz post some kind of table and compare our FA acquisitions vs. the guys who left? Imma be honest here and say I know less than 1% of these guys. To me, they a bunch of whodats.
  10. Howell is more than likely gone. With the incumbent rookie QB and Mariotta he's now the odd man out. Besides, lots of politics going around here. Howell was hand-picked by RR and the new FO has demonstrated they want practically nothing to do with the old regime. I'd take a 5th rounder for him and call it a day.
  11. I think both will be leaders for a team starting from scratch. Crowder has been here a loooong while during different stints with the team. He's seen HCs come and go. He's very respected in the offense and special teams. Wagner will be our new London Fletcher. Long-toothed veteran that naturally enters a leadership role. As to productivity I don't expect much at all. They are here to establish order.
  12. I'm hearing the same thing. KC would be landing in a spot where fans actually want him to play. Say what you will but the guy produced when he was here. Granted he had very good WRs in that time period, but I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt if only for T-Mac.
  13. Probably when we beat TB in our last playoff win (2006). Good game. Classic Gibbs since the Bucs had defeated us just a few week earlier in a real nail-bitter.
  14. No Alt or Fashanu sends the wrong message to the hypothetical rook. "Yeah you know we took you to be our our savior. Do you magic with our crappy O-line".
  15. Your logic is sound, bro. I get it. I'm just stressing that our O-line was historically bad last season. It needs a HUGE revamp that starts with young triple A players. Why bring a shiny rookie QB if you can't even keep him upright? The new FO has a great challenge. It needs to both start with a bang and convince the fans they know what the heck they are doing and that starts this year's draft and the O-line.
  16. We'll just to have to differ on that one, friend. Both of those tackles WILL be taken very high up in the draft. They are elite and are "safe picks". Most draft experts say so. Any two of those guys (Alt or Fashanu) will be NFL stalwarts for years. Our QB draft record is terrible. We've drafted just one decent to very good QB here in the past 20+ years (Cousins) and he was more of an "insurance" if RG3 imploded (he did). I have to stress that we allowed the most sacks ever in franchise history last season.
  17. Pray? You know you're in Redskins land when the draft conversation has been monopolized by QB talk. By now everyone knows we'll land a shinny QB with our 1st pick. I understand the urgency to catch an immediate starter with the draft pick. The FO has no choice, given the pressure from the fans. But that's not necessarily the right thing to do. There are TWO guys that are generational talents (Alt and Fashanu) that would be plug-and-play for us. We sorely need at least one of them. We should take one of them and start from there. Drafting an elite QB has become a game of roulette.
  18. RR was also a diversity hire. Nothing bad or ulterior motive here. Just following NFL guidelines. The new FO must be aware of this.
  19. Terrible news. I wish him the best. A Redskins great, no doubt. I fondly remember a good amount of fun games with Sellers as FB and Stephen Davis barreling down opposing defenses. That rushing attack was superb. Also, Sellers was a very good pass-catcher.
  20. Not only that. With our current O-Line this moves seems suicidal. KC would not last three games before going to IR.
