This seems like AJ Perez is saying the Washington Post is making this up? As some sort of help to Bezos?  Mark Maske  and Liz Clark are legit journalists who put their names on that article which had multiple sources quoted. Seems weird.

We are witnessing a slap fight people

There will surely be a response.

Tommorrow we will get 3 more stories along the line of

-Bezos is not allowed to bid

-Snyder is extorting the NFL

-I've heard someone bid "X" price

-Bezos is more interested in buying a franchise other than the one he hired a firm to help buy

-Snyder might not sell #47

-Snyder has no choice but to sell #35

-Snyder is afraid of someone giving his info to the fuzz

I’ll take Maske’s word over whichever Baghdad Bob spoke on Dans behalf to Perez. The NFL’s no comment should carry more weight than anything said by Dans team.

Agree.  throughout this process what has the WP been wrong about.  Nothing I can recall.

The only thing I'd say is I would bet that Dan who hates bad PR especially from the WP is perhaps on the run a bit because of the story and is backing off of the demand.  Maybe.

Regardless, all of this IMO is good if the goal is for him to sell, which is what we all want.

It might be time to start a "things you'd say to Dan" thread....could be fun. I'll leave it up to someone else to start that. I would have some choice words for sure.

The dude behaved so poorly that Fred Smith and Schar sold 40% of the team back to him for $875 million less than 2 years ago. It was approved at the 2021 March meetings. That 40% stake is now worth around $2.5 billion if the price goes for 6 billion. 1.6 billion profit in under 2 years. No one is saying anything to him. He thinks he’s the smartest dude in the room. He gets rewarded for his pettiness constantly.

So once this sale is complete one way or another, who becomes worst owner in the NFL? Is there anyone even remotely close to what Dan is?

Irsay if his teams keep sucking. He keeps putting his face on every move.

Texan's owner looked like a putz for a while but I think they moved on from that chaplin guy?

This seems the most likely scenario.

Snyder is almost a dream client for Reed Smith LLP. He'll pay enormous sums to threaten and sue anyone and everyone, and he seemingly doesn't care if he wins or how much it costs. Just rackin' up those billables!

It feels like we're in the later stages of this, and this is some weak/pathetic gambit by Snyder for a few more bucks on his way out. Of course, it also feels like we're in endless Snyder hell and it'll just keep going and going...

The CEO of the first company I worked for out of college was one these guys. They made a special about him on the Discovery channel. There was a show about casino whales and one of the episodes was about him. He shared an airplane hangar with Hugh Hefner. He had a dc9 with a jacuzzi onboard and was really good friends with Hefner and Carl Icahn. I went on like 3 Vegas trips with him and got to go to the Playboy mansion for a party as well. I got to meet a several of his friends over the years I worked there. Two of my fraternity brothers started the company I worked for and this guy acquired us. This was in the late 90s during the dot com boom. It was such a fun time before it collapsed.

I’m sold.

Snyder may be an idiot, but he's a greedy idiot. He knows damn well that a (civil) $1.3 million settlement for misconduct suddenly balloons to $400 million once it is announced that he just took a $6B payday. I think there's some smoke here

Allen also was close to the three former minority owners in the franchise: Fred Smith, Robert Rothman and Dwight Schar.

It also said that Allen talked to Baltimore investor John Moag, who was hired by the minority investors to sell their shares in the franchise, on "at least 87 separate phone calls, lasting nearly 21 hours" between a period of Jan. 9, 2020, to Nov. 18, 2020

Schar has been banned by the NFL.

Yes Schar leaked info to the tabloid in India and used Bruce. The NFL circled the wagons, buried the Wilkinson report and backed Snyder. It was a huge mistake.
