Joe Ross is a guy to give you multiple innings since he’s a natural starter.  I’m not saying it was a no brainer to pinch hit for Sanchez, just an option.  Especially considering Nats couldn’t get anything going with guys on base.  Sanchez also didn’t have his best stuff tonight.  He was getting hit hard & guys were getting on each inning.  Also, Expecting to bunt Sanchez to get the run home was a bit of a stretch.

Joe is historically bad out of the pen. If he was some kind of contingency plan for Sanchez, he wasn't a good one.

We had given up 2 runs over 4 innings all throughout this series and survived, but tonight we couldn't hit with RISP. If we had pulled Sanchez and not gotten anything for it while the bullpen gave up runs and got taxed, there would be more complaints.

tough crowd for Cabrera, in the game to face Greinke and cashed in with a single and double. :ols:

Howie will get the start tomorrow.

No kidding, it’s not like the guy who replaced him sombreroed.  Those making that statement, who would you have pulled?
