This has always been a problem with this team identity, most teams in playoffs can hit and pitch. Not prioritizing hitting likenwe do our starting pitches doesnt stop other teams from having at least one guy that can jus break through even the best of them. Craig Cousell, manager of the Brewers was part of the greatest rally against Rivera. There was a broken bat single, and then Counsell got hit by a pitch to load the bases before Louis Gonzalez won the game with a bloop single. So, it can happen against great closers.
