This is prototypical between the ears underperformance for this franchise. To blame one person for this is missing the forest for the treesย

This. This franchise has had some horrendous batting in the playoffs. Was it the against the Giants that three guys battedย 3 for 21 or worse?

People act like teams have never won 1-0 in the history of baseball lol

ย

Has there been a championship team that made a living doing that in October?ย  This has always been a problem with this team identity, most teams in playoffs can hit and pitch. Not prioritizing hitting likenwe do our starting pitches doesnt stop other teams from having at least one guy that can jus break through even the best of them.ย  They need to sign bat they plan to depend on like they depend in these pitchersย

I don't know I am going to very invested in this team next year...so tired of the disappointment.

We always say this, but I'm not sure I can in this case. The 2019 season was awesome one way or another.

They scored 8 runs against the cubs in 2017 NLDS game 5. If they scored 8 runs today, they would have lost 9-8 again. It's just the way it is with this team. :(

A little story: in game 7 of the 2001 World Series,ย The Yankees were leading the diamondbacks going into the 9th with Mariano Rivera coming up, aka โ€œthe hammer of God.โ€ ย Rivera is basically untouchable. ย

ย

Craig Cousell, manager of the Brewers was part of the greatest rally against Rivera. ย There was a broken bat single, and then Counsell got hit by a pitch to load the bases before Louis Gonzalez won the game with a bloop single.

ย

So, it can happen against great closers. ย

ย

That might be the best sporting event Iโ€™ve ever seen.ย

Thereโ€™s been a couple teams to clinch the WS with 1-0 wins. ย 91 Twins and 95 Braves come to mind!

Too true.ย  I jus see the bats go cold more often the pitchers get wrecked.
