There’s been a couple teams to clinch the WS with 1-0 wins.  91 Twins and 95 Braves come to mind!

But win a series allowing less then 1 or 2 runs a game the whole way through? How often does that happen now?  Isnt this the year the home run record got broke by almost 600 home runs?

A little story: in game 7 of the 2001 World Series, The Yankees were leading the diamondbacks going into the 9th with Mariano Rivera coming up, aka “the hammer of God.”  Rivera is basically untouchable.

Craig Cousell, manager of the Brewers was part of the greatest rally against Rivera.  There was a broken bat single, and then Counsell got hit by a pitch to load the bases before Louis Gonzalez won the game with a bloop single.

So, it can happen against great closers.

That might be the best sporting event I’ve ever seen.

There’s the hit batsman....

history repeating itself?
