The dude shooting up the baseball game was more out of character than anything. It being the only act of lefty violence we really bring up is pretty good proof of that. Go ahead and bring up Antifa and I'll attribute the KKK to yall if you want. Whatever floats your little boat.

Youre just going to gloss over all the violence at campuses when ass clowns like Milo and Shapiro show up to talk?

i could go on but what’s the point. Tribalism wins out in the end. Your side is right, nothing to see here. Good job being on the inning team

This President is an embarrassment to this country and represents the worst of human qualities:

Chances are he'll end up blaming whoever he's talking to. "You know this all started when you called them deplorables? No wonder they want to lock you up!"

No one on the liberal left engages with antifa nor does the Democratic Party encourage antifa events.

The GOP actively courts groups like Proud Boys, the right equivalent of antifa and the violent campus lefties. In fact, the NY GOP hosted a Proud Boy event where they enacted right wing assassinations of socialists just last week.

Last week, the President praises a violent attack against journalists in Montana that was carried out by an elected GOP rep.

Once again, all of you both sides people can’t get it through your head that one party actively disavows and doesn’t engage it’s extreme wing, where as the other has fully embraced their crazy.

Can you tell me which Democrat called Antifa, "very fine people?"

Im not sure what your point is here. That violence exists on both sides? Was that ever in question?

Fighting on campus is a far cry from pipe bombs in the mail to democratic leaders. That's what we are comparing this stuff to. You know this.

I guess man. You come off as one of the most tribalistic people on here. Even if your tribe is just "Argue against the popular opinion at the time" or whatever it is you call yourself doing at the moment.

Im not interested in defending either side.  Thats what people on this forum dont understand.

Im more interested in pointing out that both sides are awful.  However that work is not needed when talking about conservatives.  Look around

I KNEW Trump was going to bring up Scalise sooner rather than later when talking about this. Though I'm frankly amazed that he even admitted that the bomber "preferred" him. Obviously downplaying it but we're talking about a guy who literally tells his supporters to not believe what they can see with their own eyes and hear with their own ears and believe him.

You should tread carefully here.  Gather facts, not just go off opinions given to you via phone

"Mr. President, we are not afraid of you … and while you think you have gotten away with everything that you’ve done, we are going to show you that you haven’t gotten away with anything. We want the children back. We want them connected to their parents. We want it done now. We are going to insist on it. If you think we’re rallying out here, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

"Already, you have members of your Cabinet that have been booed out of restaurants, who have protesters taking up at their house who sang, ‘No peace, no sleep. No peace, no sleep.’ And guess what, we’re going to win this battle ... so let’s stay the course. Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them and you tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere ... Mr. President, we will see you everyday, every hour of the day, everywhere that we are to let you know you cannot get away with this."

If you have something worse than that please share it with the class. It took me 1 minute to Google the quotes you asked for btw. You are just like him. No wonder you defend him so much.

As others have repeatedly pointed out, nobody is denying that there are crazies on both the right and the left. What we're saying is that the direct comparison and both-side-ism is a false equivalency because one side has political leadership which at worst embraces, coddles, and recruits their lunatic fringe into the mainstream of the party and at best refuses to condemn them vocally. The other side has leadership that almost universally denounces the lunatic fringe. It's a huge difference.

The problem is boiling it down to "two sides"  because it normalizes what Trump has been saying and his possible role in this.  Not sure how to further re-iterate this isn't about (D) vs. (R), it's about Trump himself and what he has brought to the table as President. It's a Trump thing, not a conservative/Republican thing.  My only larger point is when will the people who continue to support him say enough is enough and say whatever policy he is in favor of, isn't worth it, and that they can likely find many others who support mostly all the same things.

What is it about Trump himself and the uber-loyalty to him that allows him to continue to seek to new depths and his supporters don't bat an eye?

Personally, I think that this forum leans slightly left but it’s more centrist than anything.  I don’t think that any of the further left wing posters in this board are way out of line with any of their comments.  There aren’t many hard right Trump supporters and that’s pretty much by design.  The moderators gave the posters who would have likely been hardcore Trump supporters the boot long ago (along with a few who I’m sure would be ardently anti-Trump).  That’s fine, the board is better for it.

I think this board is more civil and center leaning than many other Internet forums and certainly a lot more serious and informative.  I’m actually quite surprised that zoony is treating the posters of the tailgate like they are “CNN fake news” to the Donald Trump, if you will.

On another note, sort of unrelated, if the Dems were smart they would let the GOP hang themselves in the upcoming mid terms.  The economy is getting ready to tank.  The orange doofus will blame the recently elected dems

Commodity and tariff pressures are off the charts and demand is stalling.  Debt is spiralling, both corporate and federal.  Its not a pretty picture right now

Let the repubs have their names all over this one

I wager it's not even about Trump. Its wide spread mental illness causes by the first black president and a group of adults to used to getting what it is they want that they refuse to say they were wrong.

Zonny is a perfect example. Dude refuses to give an inch and he knows he is dead as wrong. He is clearly intelligent enough to get it. But he either cant or won't cause he cant be the only one wrong. Its the same thing with Trump supporters. It's why facts dont work and why you cant reason with them.

I would agree but I'm afraid it won't work. And if it doesn't then what?

This I agree with.

I think the Dems should just keep doing what they’re doing, try to take the “high road” (however that can be), and let the economy do its thing.  People don’t like it when the money dries up.

My boss (a huge Trump supporter) was defending the tariffs, just yesterday, as one of our suppliers was increasing the cost of parts on some of our supplies.  He said that the tariffs were just an excuse for them to raise prices.  Everything’s a conspiracy.
