Excessively Farting Passenger Reportedly Causes American Airlines Flight to Turn Around

“We all breathed a sigh of relief when he was removed,” a witness to the gassy passenger wrote on Reddit

A flight was reportedly delayed after the plane ran into some unexpected flatulence: an excessively gassy passenger who had to be removed.

The Jan. 14 incident was documented by a Texas-based reddit user, lamgalatx, wrote about the smelly situation on an American Airlines flight from Phoenix to Austin. American Airlines did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

“I was seated near the row where this situation occurred,” the passenger recalled in the r/Austin subreddit. While the airplane was still at the gate, the documentarian says they saw and heard an “audibly disgruntled” and “maybe hungover” man. He reportedly exclaimed, “You thought that was rude? Well how about this smell," and proceeded to loudly pass gas.

Furious China plane passenger buys 2 first-class tickets, demands seats for 3, delays flight by hours

A plane in China was delayed by three hours and 300 people were forced to rebook their flights after an angry passenger demanded three first-class seats but had only paid for two.

The unidentified man argued with the cabin crew and passengers on the flight from Beijing to Chengdu in the southwestern province of Sichuan on December 30.

He was adamant that, because he had bought two first-class tickets, he should be allowed to upgrade a family member from economy class for free.

In a viral video filmed by a passenger, surnamed Zhao, the man is seen surrounded by a group of people including flight attendants, security guards and passengers, as he rages against them.

“Stop swearing at me. You have no right to do that,” he bellows.

When a male passenger attempts to point out the airline’s policy, the man becomes furious and turns on him. A security guard tries to intervene and calm the situation, but the man will not be subdued.

“What gives you the right to order me about?” he yells.

“You’ve wasted too much of our time and we won’t tolerate it any longer,” a woman passenger shouts back at him.

Zhao said the quarrel began at 11am when the man’s two-year-old son, who was sitting next to him in the first class cabin, started to cry.

The child had originally been sitting in economy class but the man demanded the crew upgrade his child’s seat to first-class.

When his request was denied he became angry. No matter how many times the cabin crew explained the airline’s policy to him, the man was adamant he was in the right and that he was entitled to an upgrade.

Eventually, the police were called and the man was escorted off the plane at 2pm.

Zhao said the 300 other passengers were annoyed that their time had been wasted and that they all had to rebook their flights.

****tails And No Pants: How One Spirit Airlines Passenger Turned A Flight Into A Fiasco

A passenger on a Spirit Airlines flight reportedly removed his pants and shirt and walked through the aisle while the seatbelt sign remained on. Southwest Airlines reveals new cabin interior look

Southwest Airlines this week teased a new look for their aircraft cabin interiors.

Flyers may notice the new look on new planes beginning next year.

“The design is based on extensive research covering customer and employee perceptions of color, comfort, and their aspirations for the overall onboard experience,” a Southwest press release reads.

The Dallas-based airline partnered with design company Tangerine on the redesign.

“Our redesigned cabin interior significantly enhances our inflight Customer experience and will complement the amazing service that our Crews provide,” said Southwest Airlines senior vice president and chief customer officer Tony Roach.

Meanwhile, Southwest is still working to update its existing fleet with changes announced in 2022.

Here’s what Southwest passengers can expect on future flights:

  • New seats from Recaro. The new seats will “feature a multi-adjustable headrest cushion, an ergonomically enhanced seat bottom, a backrest with lumbar support, and a new armrest design that maximizes seat width,” according to Recaro. The seats will also include a personal electronic device holder, Southwest says. Southwest selected this seat based on feedback from testing, workshops, and comfort studies, Recaro says. Not everyone is impressed with the new seat design, though. One of the top comments on a TikTok video the airline posted teasing the new seats asks, “Are the improvements on board with us?” Other commenters suggested they’d turn to competitors like Delta.
  • Personal power ports and larger overhead bins. Southwest says all new 737 Max 8 aircraft delivered to the airline are outfitted with USB-A and USB-C power ports and larger overhead bins. These features will be added to existing Max 8 and 737-800 aircraft, which is expected to be done “over the next several years,” Southwest says.

Two Jet Blue planes collide on the ground at Boston’s Logan Airport

Passengers on two Jet Blue planes had their travel plans upended Thursday morning after the jets collided on the tarmac at Logan Airport.

A JetBlue plane was entering the de-icing pad lane Thursday morning when it came into contact with the tail of another JetBlue plane at an adjacent pad, the airline said in a statement. The collision caused damage to one of the plane’s winglets and the other’s tail section.

No passengers or crews were hurt during the incident and both planes were taken out of service for repairs.

Alaska Airlines Passenger Allegedly Stabbed Man With Homemade Weapon

An Alaska Airlines passenger was arrested after he allegedly stabbed another man on the flight using a homemade weapon last month, according to a report. Federal court documents say that Julio Lopez is facing one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, according to KLAS-TV. Lopez allegedly tried to stab a man in the eye on a Jan. 24 flight from Seattle to Las Vegas, “punching and hitting” the victim. He also allegedly struck the victim’s wife as she tried to shield their 7-year-old son. Investigators later recovered a weapon made of pens and rubber bands, the documents say. A witness told authorities there “was blood everywhere” and that Lopez was “screaming, ‘I’ll only talk to the FBI,’” after the alleged assault. He was then restrained for the rest of the flight before allegedly telling officials at the airport that he “felt the mafia had been chasing him.” Lopez also reportedly admitted he’d never seen the victim “but planned on killing” him because he thought he was being followed.

I always laugh at the OP's rant and subsequent commentary because so much has changed since 2018 and most of what he says is no longer valid.

United and Delta are among the 2 best carriers right now. I say this even though United delayed my flight, made me miss my connection, and I had to book one 2 hours later when I Was going to Orlando.

Specifically booked my flight home knowing Id have to rush, but wanted to get home before my kids went to bed. Flight as been delayed 2.5 hours, first because the plane was delayed and now the crew is evidently delayed.
