Miami Herald: I’m done trying to understand Trump supporters. Why don’t they try to understand me?

Trumpworld’s next target: Building a dark-money machine

A summit is planned for next month in Palm Beach, where conservative donors will plot to inject hundreds of millions into boosting candidates and causes aligned with the former president.

Liberals spent years building a massive dark-money machine. Now conservatives are trying to match them.

I saw a video (or read an article) right after the election that talked about why the Dems didn't do so well in Nov 2020, even though they raised a butt ton of money. Turns out, there is no correlation to amount of money raised or spent and positive election results. When it comes down to it, campaigns would rather spend the money and possibly win as opposed to not spending the money and maybe losing because of that. So, if these idiots think more money is going to save them (it won't), then let them focus on that instead of real strategy. See you assholes in 2022.

The hilarious thing about far right sites is just how damn fast they ban people who come in with dissenting views. They scream about "cancel culture" and that "free speech" should be allowed, but as soon as someone outside of their bubble speaks up, they ban them.

It's happened to me multiple times on places like Brietbart and Gateway Pundit. I don't break any rules, I don't curse, I don't call names, I don't threaten. I just disagree and explain why. Next thing I know I can't post comments anymore because I'm banned.

I'm assuming Frank will be the same.

This is an interesting topic.  A good argument can be made that money does, in fact, correlate with winning.  But then, often, contributions flow to the candidate who is already viewed as being much stronger than his or her opponent.  Most incumbents win, and most incumbents are more well funded by virtue of being incumbents.  For example, in 2020 House elections, the top spending candidate won 88% of the elections.  In 2020 in the Senate it was 71%.  Those percentages are skewed by the fact that many races were won by an uncontested candidate though.  Then you get situations were one party or the other is trying to expand the map by funding the hell out of a long shot, like Jaime Harrison in SC.  So it's weird, but i think the bottom line is that money matters a lot.

I wonder how much the internet has effect money being less effective.  The money allows for things like traveling, commercials, more face time with voters, but I assume for a fraction of that cost you can load up internet advertisements on all the popular social media sites that end up with just as much if not more reach, and it seems like disinformation online is very easy to get people to believe.

I'll have to see if I can find...whatever the hell it was. I think part of what was also mentioned was that a candidate (lets say Beto) would crush someone like Cruz in donations, but still lose. Well, a lot of those donations came from out of state, a lot of people hate Ted Cruz. So, even though Beto is getting a ton of financial support, it CAN'T translate into votes because the money is come from all over the country and not just his (would be) constituents.

I promise you money plays a part in who wins, I just don't think its as big a factor as the new or people think it does.

You mean the Operation Warp Speed that the former scientific director of (Moncef Slaoui) said was failing in January before the Biden team took over?

Quote

“Our mission in its second piece, with my co-leader Gen. [Gustave] Perna, was to distribute the vaccines, take them from point A to the point of immunization” he went on. “That’s how we designed it and worked it out with all the jurisdictions in the country.”

“Indeed, the immunization definitely is not working appropriately” he said. “And as long as that is not working appropriately, we’re failing. Overall, we’re failing, because the objective is to immunize.”

Commies?  Really?  So he's trying to go all McCarthy on us?  Does he know what communism is?  Doesn't matter, there are plenty of idiots who will eat that **** up.  Surprised he didn't go with socialism though.

Oh, and taking our guns?  Clearly he hasn't checked gun sale stats.  Not sure why I'm even bothering to comment, just that it's annoying that such a blatantly stupid and phony ad will actually work.

Unfortunately you're probably right.

Big Dan is a lawyer from New Jersey. Which explains the need for the phony Texan act.

As curious George would say "Make-believe cowboys. Closest they've ever gotten to a cow is when they stopped to take a piss at an Arby's."

Wouldn’t you love to be Dan Rodimer’s kids?

”Dad, why do we have to move every couple years?”

”Because son, I’ve got to find a place where the people are stupid enough to vote for me, so I can grift off the public dime, and not do any real work. THAT’S how you get ahead in this country son.”

Did you watch his wife and kids in the Nevada clip? I can't decided whether their expressions are "God, my [father, husband] is such a complete moron and I'm so embarrassed to be alive" or "I must make it through this correctly or my [father, husband] is going to beat me".
