I’m fully behind him and I think he’s the only one who can beat Trump.  Maaaaaybe Bernie.  Doubtful on Beto or Harris.  Definitely not Warren or Buttjug.

Bernie can't beat Trump.  Trump would pound the socialism from the socialist to death. Scare enough voters, to give Trump the reelection.

Biden's baggage, may doom him in the democratic primaries.

Could you give an example?  I read through the article and got to the beginning of the book stuff, but don't have time to read through all that right now.

Buttigeg isn't getting that far.

I say the nominee will be either Kamala Harris or Bernie Sanders.

While I like Harris, I simply don’t see her (or any other woman in the field) beating Trump.  Sadly, I think America is still too inherently sexist to see a female contender unseat a person like Trump.  Specifically Trump.

Long read on Buttigeg using his book excerpts. Bothersome stuff in there for me.

This is kind of a weird article. The writer literally says I don’t trust this guy off the bat and then picks apart his book to then confirm those biases in kind of circumstantial or not the most substantive of ways. Like when talking about his time as mayor of south bend he fails to mention that when Pete got into office it was on the top ten most decaying cities in the US. So it’s more a question of how he’s improved the city or not than whether there is poverty or homelessness.

His characterization of him as this fake person who does whatever to succeed didn’t come across in the things I’ve seen of him. I thought he came across as authentic in his breakfast club interview.

He is light on policy, but I’m curious about his idea for making the Supreme Court less political and I like the idea of inter generational justice. It also takes balls to come out as gay during a reelection campaign in Indiana. That shows he will take a political risk to stay true to himself.

Who knows, it’s still early and we’ll see who these people really are once more time passes.

Basically says Buttigeig is a privileged white suburbanite without any real policy. More of an elitist then a progressive.

Seemed to redflag him over his lack of empathy for injustices and suffering and his embrace of military intervention and duty to serve.

He might forgive elitism and lack of policy, but not those :pint:

I agree with @Fresh8686 here.  The writer is an obvious shill for Bernie Sanders.  Look at his article history.  He has hit pieces for:

Buttigeg:  this one.

Biden:  March 20, titled Everybody Chum, subtitled "Joe Biden’s career shows why being a Washington “boys’ club” insider is indefensible…"

Beto:  March 15, titled How to Write a Political Puff Piece, in response to Vanity Fair's cover story on Beto.

And, wait, what did he write about Bernie?  February 19, titled There is Still Only One Clear Way to Get Rid of Trump, subtitled "Let’s be honest: running Bernie in 2020 is the best shot the Democrats have at beating Trump…"

And, in the Guardian, in December, "Why Bernie Sanders is (still) the most progressive choice for president" subtitled "With less than two years until election day, no other Democratic candidate has the ability to defeat Donald Trump"

He's pushing an agenda, so I'd be wary of his takes.

Edit:  Also, he's like 12.  This is literally his picture from his official bio as a Harvard student-faculty member.  This appears to be a photo from the Senior Prom.

And yet somebody that people have collectively hated for 30 years was only around 80,000 votes across a few states from Electorally beating him.

Kamala drfintrly coupd beat him if she simply turns out the minority and women vote a little bit better than Hilary.

Hillary also had name recognition and a built in base ready for her.  I could see Harris being more popular among POC than Hillary.

I think, ultimately, the Dems need turnout.  Hopefully many people like me will vot for whatever Democrat runs.  This is no time to withhold voting because you don’t like the candidate.

I think Harris and Beto have the best chances to win because I think they will turn out the vote more than others and can avoid the socialist stigma.

Policy wise, Warren is my favorite but I don’t think she can do it and I’m kinda against older candidates. I want new younger blood.

Same woth Bernie and Biden. Im not sure either would beat trump anyway.

Mayor Pete is a great candidate and the future of the party but I think he’s at least one term too soon. He’s the respectable clean progressive and bold idea handoff candidate that picks up the baton from the Dem in 2028.

Wild card is how many Bernie bros torpedo the ****. Trump is unpopular and hated with a series of failed campaign promises and screwups. He can be had.

The only one in the field who might beat Trump is Uncle Joe and with all the stuff coming out about him; he's not even going anywhere near the nomination.
