Although I find the “he was a slave owner” argument stupid because that’s, unfortunately, what most wealthy/prominent people were back then… and the idea that the parts of the song no one sings (and few even know) may or may not be racist (depending on who you ask) doesn’t do much for me. So im not a huge fan or changing it, but, whatever. but this idea of two anthems and ones for white people and ones for black people 😂 sorry. But sometimes things are just ridiculous and don’t even make sense. My take, FWIW, is that whatever our national anthem is should be the song everyone recognizes and respects.
