Coach Green to CBs:  Just wait for the WR to make a cut or run past you.  Then, turn, run, catch up to the slow-a$$ WR and knock the ball down.

Thats the issue with great players going into coaching. There standart is to high. What comes easy to then is hard for others. Thats why you see a lot of second line players become good coaches. They know what it is to work hard to keep your roster spot and get the max out of your limited abilities.

Yeah, but then they'll get to redzone and throw a bunch of fades.

He's gotta be the youngest head coach in NFL history if he gets one of these gigs.

Mike Singletary would disagree with you.

And he would be wrong.  Because he proves your point.

Probably not.  Most HOF player talents do not make great coaches or at least hate coaching.

I wish Darrell would have gone into coaching. That dude would have made a great DB coach.

Ok, we've got some good examples here to help us get down what's going to be okay and what isn't pertaining to this thread.

Out of all of these, there's one post here that really should be avoided. Particularly pertaining to this part of the rules listed in the OP:

Quote

DO NOT turn this into a thread where discussions, arguments, or debates are had.

Which one is it?

Maybe some of you think it's about the "HOF'ers do not make great coaches" idea, right?

Nope. :)

That's actually fine. It's not a hot topic anywhere within The Stadium nor is it being really discussed or debated here much, though it's getting close since there's about three replies to it. That's where we want the next person who wants to respond to it, especially if they have some detailed analysis to provide on the topic that they KNOW will generate debate,  to say "hmmm... this deserves a thread". And if you don't think it deserves a thread, then just don't add to it. It's not the end of the world if your thoughts don't spread the world. :P

The post that's a problem here? This one:

Why? Because the redzone issues, including fades, are a hot button topic here and have numerous threads to where they can be discussed. It's a point being made that proliferates one idea within the board that is in opposition to others, which invites responses.

So now others will itch to reply with "Kirk is the one who decides often when to go to the fade" or "the fade as a concept is just fine there, it just wasn't executed properly" or "yeah, McVay is an idiot and it should've been taken out of the playbook, especially to a guy like DJax, lulz".

We want you guys to be more conscientious about what you're posting here in this thread. Again, if there's any doubt or you're unsure, just avoid posting. Remember, we do have a random "thot" thread so, if anything, you could throw your thought in there if you have any doubts.

The twitter thread, in the past, made that thread completely obsolete... which says everything that needs to be said about what we're trying to avoid here.

Any questions? Please do ask... I want to make sure we iron all of this out and it becomes a known deal across the board with only the occasional hiccups from posters who are new or just forgot. :)

Sorry... I thought it was funny and not meant as a hot button topic starter.

No problem... just remember it's not about what you think, necessarily, but about what you might cause when you post. If you know it's something that's been discussed ad nauseum elsewhere on the board, that's a great indication it's best to avoid posting anything on it.

Yes, yes, we do...I even follow that thread. :ols:

And until May 1, we have the chat room.  Let's not clog this up.  It's really important right now.:movefast:

And this! Jaguars also hiring their former HC Tom Coughlin as Executive VP of Football Operations, per source. Marrone and Coughlin in Jax.

Jaguars extending contract of GM Dave Caldwell two years, giving him matching three-year deals with Doug Marrone and Tom Coughlin.

The McVay watch begins. Could need two coordinators soon.

Basically, my sense is that fans will be upset no matter who the Redskins hire as DC, unless he's had top-ranked D every year. For 10 years

@john_keim Really should be at least 11 years and with absolutely no talent to work with.

Pieces are falling into place. Think we'll have our DC in a couple days.

I'm told to expect Steve Wilks DC interview with the #Redskins to take place tomorrow (Tuesday 10 Jan).
