Assorted Militia/SovCit news,(formerly Bundy thread)

In reference to the stand down order I poster above. There's 2 recorded statements from David Frye,(allegedly. Sounds like him), posted on youtube. Presumably taking place this morning. Second one is basically him saying goodbye,(assuming he's speaking for the other 3 in the refuge). First one is him talking about PPN's statement about talking to them and setting up a rescue. Said it never happened. Had no idea what that was all about. If that was him,the spokesman for PPN has some s'plainin' to do.

Also.

Ethical Questions Surround Ammon Bundy’s Legal Team, Strategy

Two Oregon attorneys came to the refuge at least once and inventoried which federal laws were being broken, while militant leaders ordered new recruits to engage in illegal activity.

While Ammon Bundy was teaching others about his interpretation of the Constitution, lawyers were schooling him about potential violations of federal laws as the militant leader led the occupation at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

Both Ammon Bundy and his brother Ryan told several journalists, including OPB reporters, that an Oregon-based law firm was asking to represent the men.

On Jan. 7, in an interview with OPB, Ryan Bundy said the militants didn’t need lawyers, because he didn’t believe the group had broken any laws.

“But some are coming up to talk with us,” Bundy said.

On Jan. 9, Lissa Casey of the Arnold Law Firm tweeted that she and Brian Boender, a fellow attorney from the Eugene Based Arnold Law Firm, met with some “very nice men” at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

Bundy militants could be forced to repay $3.4 million to taxpayers over illegal stunt

An Oregon Democrat introduced legislation that would require Ammon Bundy and other out-of-state militants to repay taxpayers for the cost of their armed takeover of a wildlife sanctuary.

Rep. Earl Blumenauer introduced a bill that would require the militants — and the federal government — to pay back costs associated with the occupation, which the lawmaker estimates at $100,000 a day, reported KOIN-TV.

The bill would require the U.S. Department of Justice “to quickly reimburse state and local law enforcement agencies up front for costs associated with responding to the armed takeover.”

The U.S. Attorney General would then be allowed sue the militants to recover those costs.

“It would allow the federal government to go after the armed people who started it,” Blumenauer said. “But in the meantime, the people of Harney County shouldn’t have to suffer twice — had the disruption and then have to pay the bill.”

Blumenauer said the federal government should pay some of the costs to Oregon taxpayers, because he said authorities prolonged the standoff by waiting to arrest or confront the militants.

“The state and local government shouldn’t have to pick up the tab — it’s not their fault,” he said. “The feds need to reimburse and then go after the people who caused it.”

Harney County’s top administrative official previously estimated the occupation cost taxpayers $70,000 a day — and he also wanted the militants to reimburse local taxpayers.

Still there but way whacked out now. Here's the youtube page if anyone's curious. They may be running low on supplies.

Anyone unarmed who doesn't agree with them gets shot. **** the FBI,ect. Frye has really gone off the deep end. Turning nasty now.

----

Militia members turning on each other still but then they've always done that. More than enough of them out there to be scary.

case in point.

Currently a group of them trying to start a "new front" near the refuge at an rv park. Twitterverse responded quickly to this by swarming yelp and other sites giving the place negative reviews. Apparently the owners are sympathetic to militias? Now they're moving it somewhere else nearby.

And to make things worse for the people in Burns Oregon. Cliven may be heading to Burns himself,(various rumors on that one and Cliven has been known to change his mind.....a lot). Michele Fiore will be heading to Portland and Burns to protest arrests. Ugh.

And an article about how the Piute's are informing the Bundys that they aren't the victim.

There's a bunch of stuff going on,but those are a few of the "high points".  The Oregonian/OregonLive have been putting out some great stuff over the past week or two about this and a few other related items.  The Salt Lake Tribune has put out 2 articles over the past week that tie in the Koch brother's Western Land deal with the Bundy's and how they may be using their videos to rile up the militias.

Ammon Bundy's lawyers deny breaking legal ethics rule with refuge visit

Militant leader Ammon Bundy ended up hiring a Eugene law firm less than three weeks after its lawyers went to the occupied Malheur National Wildlife Refuge to offer their services for free.

Two lawyers from Arnold Law Firm had driven in early January to the refuge outside Burns and first presented a written letter that was delivered into Ammon Bundy's hands.

The letter had a simple message, according to Mike Arnold, who runs the firm: "We're here if you want to speak to us.''

The letter's subject line: "Offering discussion regarding possible pro bono legal services.''

After the FBI and state police arrested Bundy, 40, and other key players Jan. 26 on a federal conspiracy charge in the monthlong takeover, Bundy called the firm to represent him.

The FBI Has Raided the Malheur Refuge

A YouTube feed appears to broadcast negotiations between the FBI and remaining militant occupiers

FBI agents appear to have raided the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge tonight, in an attempt to arrest the last four holdouts from the militant seizure of federal buildings in Harney County, Ore.

The move by the FBI comes 39 days after Arizona militant Ammon Bundy seized the wildlife refuge headquarters.

Bundy and other militant leaders were arrested Jan. 26 on a rural East Oregon highway—one of them, LaVoy Finicum, was killed by Oregon State Police during the arrest.

David Fry, one of the last four occupiers at the Malheur refuge, appears to have called an occupation sympathizer, who is broadcasting negotiations between him and the FBI.

On the feed, the occupiers alternate between praying and screaming at FBI agents.

"You guys killed LaVoy!" Fry can be heard yelling. "You guys allowed Hillary to continue to run for president! You allowed Obama to bring terrorists into this country!"

I know you're upset, David," an FBI negotiator replies.

The YouTube feed is below.

What a fantastic waste of time, money, energy, people, and other resources these pieces of **** continue to be. Am I correct that the only reason they've been allowed to live out their fantasies for this long is because they've made it so abundantly clear that if authorities try to arrest them, that somebody is going to die?

If that's the case, why haven't we just disabled them? My understanding is that playing audio of backwards baby screaming above a certain noise level renders hostiles incapacitated. The military has also developed a paralytic mind ray (shown below) that would serve the same function. We probably have some good old fashioned mustard gas just sitting around collecting dust.

Arresting Cliven is big.  He's one of the "spiritual" leaders of the whole movement.  Him "beating" the feds in 2014 was such a major victory for these anti-government groups.  Hopefully these last four guys at the refuge will give up peacefully and we can be done with it.

Actually, the impression I've had for a while, is that the real terrorists aren't the folks out at the refuge. (In fact, I wonder if those folks are the movement's expendable patsies, send out there with the expectation of their imminent martyrdom).

That the real terrorists, the folks who need to lose something, to be taught a lesson, are the folks walking around town with weapons, threatening the local residents.

Personally, I am struggling to continue giving a **** about this.  It is no longer interesting and has drug on way longer than necessary.  Happy to see ol' Cliven arrested.  I really hope it was by FBI and the agent made a snarky comment about not having the constitutional authority to bang his head off of the roof of the car as he was stuffing him in the back.

In Novato California right now and checking in. 3 of the 4 have left and are surrendering. Frye is the last one there and wing at Michele Fire is talking to him via vullhorn. That thought is scary. I thought Cliven might get picked while there. Blaine Cooper got picked up too

Could be more coming and some possible fallout. Been a revealing experience.
