balki1867
That almost happened to a friend of mine. He's of Indian descent and was in a border town for work. He went for a run after work and left his ID in his hotel room (very stupid for running-safety-related reasons, but that's not the point of this story-- there's no law in America that requires you to carry ID on you at all times). Anyways, he speaks perfect English, is highly educated, and was clearly in running gear but the border folks didn't care. Somehow he managed to convince them not to take him anywhere and they eventually let him go, but I really have to wonder a reason to suspect he was here illegally that didn't involve the color of his skin. There actually is a mini-surge of Indian people trying to enter the US through Mexico, but few of them speak perfect English with an American accent and cross 50 miles of desert with running gear and then go for a casual evening jog. China
What America would look like with zero immigration Opinion by Justin Gest During four years in office, President Donald Trump reduced immigration admissions in every way that American law makes possible without congressional approval -- cutting refugee numbers, deporting law-abiding members of American citizens' families and then finally halting all entry to the US amid the pandemic for a period before blocking the issuance of new green cards. In 2020, virtually zero migration was no longer just a thought experiment; it was, at least for a period of time, policy. As the US government now grapples with a backlog of asylum-seekers and immigrants at the southern border, a team of economists, demographers and I modeled what America would be like if those earlier policies were to continue hereafter. Commissioned by the bipartisan immigration advocacy group FWD.us, our independent research used the most recent US Census and economic data to project the outcomes of a variety of different policy scenarios -- one that cuts immigration to zero as Trump effectively did in 2020; one that cuts immigration admissions in half; one that extends recent levels; one that increases recent levels by 50%; and one that doubles recent levels. The general trend in our modeling is clear: the more immigrants, the merrier. In short, if immigration remained at near-zero levels, within decades, the country could be older, smaller and poorer. But if the US government welcomed more newcomers, within decades, the country could be younger, more productive and richer. China
WATCH: Stephen Miller Tells Fox News That He’s Suing Joe Biden Over Illegal Immigration When Joe Biden took office in January, he inherited a number of different messes. The biggest, of course, was the COVID-19 pandemic. Now over 200 million Americans have been vaccinated and shots are freely available. There is also a situation at the US/Mexico border where many are seeking asylum. While Conservative talking heads have claimed that this began with Biden, it had started under the Trump administration. Trump flak Stephen Miller is desperate to detract from Biden’s successes. And on Thursday night, he announced that he and Texas AG Ken Paxton are suing Joe Biden. Miller explained to Tucker Carlson, “I’m working with attorney general Ken Paxton who is a true patriot and we should all be grateful to him, to sue the Biden administration on behalf of the people of Texas for flooding their estate with untested, Covid infected illegal immigrants. gbear
I have been beating the financial advantages for more immigration for years now. Our future, not unlike our past, is dependant on immigrants. We are llucky to have the only industrialized country with a young workforce on our border to the South. To the extent we can, we should bring some of their younger workforce into our country. Ours is a country formed by fairly recent immigration. I say recent because ours is comparatively young country and many of its citizens have lineage that traces back to one or more of the immigration booms (think slaves at first, then Irish or Korean or...).
balki1867
Love it @gbear I really wish Democrats were more forceful about the benefits of immigration. Like instead of throwing out generalities about "taking the jobs nobody wants," make it super clear. "You see Dr. Patel in Podunk, Alabama? He didn't take someone's doctor job. It turns out that literally nobody born in the US wants to go through 8 years of college and 3 years of residency just to move to your town. But Dr. Patel is willing to immigrate here to do it. So be grateful he wants to move here, and let's keep investing in keeping this a country that future Dr. Patels want to move to, or else resign yourself to the fact that Podunk, Alabama will be that much more unliveable once you fix immigration and can't get a decent doctor."

China
Federal Judge Rejects Florida’s Efforts to Stop Biden Administration’s Immigration Directives The state of Florida cannot stop the Biden administration from enforcing a pair of immigration directives just because it “simply disagrees” with those priorities, a federal judge ruled on Tuesday evening, finding that his agencies’ discretionary decisions were not subject to judicial review. Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody (R) filed the lawsuit in March after the administration issued a January memo to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and a February memo to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) which halted the detention of certain immigrants who had previously been to prison. The administration justified the temporary measure as an effort to prioritize more dangerous and violent offenders with the agencies’ limited resources. The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, alleged that in issuing the immigration guidance, Biden and his cabinet officials had “violated their oaths of office, flouted Congressional statutes, failed to protect U.S. citizens and immigrants alike, and created what will quickly become a public-safety nightmare.” “The Biden Administration cannot simply order federal immigration officials to ignore the clear commands of Congress,” the suit alleged, adding, “This unprecedented, flagrant disregard for the public safety of Americans and Floridians is a radical departure from even Obama-era policy.” Florida argued that the interim policies should be enjoined for violating the Administrative Procedure Act (APA) “pending judicial review.” The administration contended that because only final agency actions are reviewable under the APA, the statute was not applicable to interim policies that were only intended to last a few months. In a 23-page opinion, U.S. District Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell, an appointee of President Barack Obama, sided with the administration, concluding that the court “cannot conclude that the memos constitute the agency’s definitive position,” and did not “constitute final agency action reviewable under the APA.” Click on the link for the full article

China
‘Get Guns And Be Ready’: Lara Trump Tells Americans At Border To ‘Gun Up’ And Take Matters Into Their Own Hands Appearing for an interview on Fox News’s “Justice with Judge Jeanine” on Saturday, Lara Trump, urged Americans living at the southern border to “arm up and get guns and be ready,” in response to the influx of migrants arriving at the U.S. border. “I don’t know what you tell the people that live at the southern border. I guess they better arm up and get guns and be ready, and maybe they’re gonna have to take matters into their own hands,” the daughter-in-law of former President Trump told host Jeanine Pirro. Click on the link for the full article ----------------------- Biden administration dismantles Trump-era office for victims of immigrant crime The Biden administration said Friday it has dismantled a Trump-era government office to help victims of crimes committed by immigrants, a move that symbolizes President Joe Biden's rejection of former President Donald Trump's repeated efforts to link immigrants to crime. Mr. Trump created the Victim Of Immigration Crime Engagement Office, known by its acronym VOICE, by executive order during his first week in office in January 2017. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said it was replacing VOICE with a "more comprehensive and inclusive victim support system." China
‘Assimilate’: White Nationalist Stephen Miller Urges Iron Curtain for America in Call to Ban All Immigration White nationalist Stephen Miller, who served for four years as Donald Trump’s speechwriter, senior advisor, and architect of the former president’s anti-immigrant strategy, is now calling for America to effectively impose an iron-curtain policy encircling the United States, banning all immigration – legal and illegal – so everyone in the country, citizen and non-citizen alike, can “assimilate,” and so “we can share our values” with them. Were America to follow Miller’s advice, the population would immediately decline and the economy would soon be destroyed. “We need a breather, we need a break, we need a pause,” Miller said at the far right wing Young America’s Foundation’s National Conservative Student Conference, as Mediaite reports. “After five decades of record immigration, what we need is a timeout so that we can take stock of everybody who’s here, and those who are here lawfully. We can assimilate, we can bring into the middle class, we can solve the poverty issues, we can have one thriving American middle class.” Click on the link for the full story

China
Who are Moe Darling McLeod and Vince McLeod? Wife Arrested, Husband Fired After Harassing, Assaulting Immigrant's Wife Over 'Abolish Ice' Car Sticker A woman who was caught on camera assaulting an immigrant's wife outside a Safeway in Astoria, Oregon, after her husband accosted her over an "Abolish ICE" sticker on her car has been arrested and her husband has been fired from his job. As previously reported, Moe Darling of Ilwaco, Washington, was filmed assaulting Alyssa Cuellar, whose husband is an immigrant, after Moe's husband, Vince McLeod, verbally abused her over the bumper sticker in the parking lot of the supermarket. Cuellar, a BLM activist and advocate for immigration, posted the video of the incident on Facebook on Sunday. She said McLeod flipped her off and cussed at her after seeing her exit her vehicle with the sticker on the car's rear. "Abolish ice? F**ck you ya little C**t," McLeod yelled before Cuellar said she pulled out her cellphone and started recording over concerns that he would damage her vehicle. PeterMP
@clskinsfan There have been claims that Biden is not enforcing the border laws. That he's for open borders and allowing unchecked flow of migrants to come into the US. However, people being detained at the border have increased every month Biden has been President. I have a hard time reconciling a lack of enforcement of the border with increasing numbers of detainees. https://www.texastribune.org/2021/07/16/us-mexico-border-apprehensions-how-many/ Edited August 17, 2021 by PeterMP
The 12th Commandment
Biden's not being mean enough to them. No comments about rapes, diseased plague rats, child sex trafficking or murders of true blue Muricans. Righties care more about hollow mean, nasty talk about people they want approval to hate and look down on, than they do about actual issues.
