Everyone should read this.

This is just one paragraph:

Quote

Over the weekend, the President agreed to halt the operation. But it’s far from certain whether McAleenan actually got the upper hand. Officials in the White House authorized ice to issue a press release insinuating that someone had leaked important details about the operation and therefore compromised it. “Any leak telegraphing sensitive law-enforcement operations is egregious and puts our officers’ safety in danger,” an ice spokesperson said late Saturday afternoon. This was a puzzling statement given that it was Trump who first publicized the information about the operation. But the White House’s line followed a different script: some members of the Administration, as well as the former head of ice, Thomas Homan, were publicly accusing McAleenan of sharing information with reporters in an attempt to undermine the operation.

This administration is a masterpiece of incompetence and its glaringly obvious on its two primary campaign agendas: immigration and trade. Both are a ****show of incompetence and failure.

Graphic imagery.

Spoiler

Quote

According to Le Duc’s reporting for La Jornada, Óscar Alberto Martínez Ramírez, frustrated because the family from El Salvador was unable to present themselves to U.S. authorities and request asylum, swam across the river on Sunday with his daughter, Valeria.

He set her on the U.S. bank of the river and started back for his wife, Tania Vanessa Ávalos, but seeing him move away the girl threw herself into the waters. Martínez returned and was able to grab Valeria, but the current swept them both away

“I begged them not to go, but he wanted to scrape together money to build a home,” Ramírez said. “They hoped to be there a few years and save up for the house.

Ah, well.  They deserved it then.

Good thing we turned them away,  when they showed up at the border and requested asylum, like they're supposed to.

I distinctly recall when Trump was trying to build the wall, the Dem argument was that there was no crisis at the border. Immigration was down, it was a solution in search of a problem, the broder crisis was overstated for political purposes.

NOW, the Dems have pivoted it back to being a crisis, a different kind of crisis, something has to be done, it's a humanitarian issue, but what about the children, etc.

The Trump admin wanted it to be the volume of people at the border and the damage they were gonna do to America.  The opposition wants it to be the damage the administration is doing to these people.  They can paint them as heartless ****s.  And this picture going around is pretty shameless to me.  Just freely showing the bodies of dead children.  Frankly, if that were an American child in an American inner city face down dead, they're not gonna bother.

Side note: Being poor shouldn't necessarily be a reason to seek asylum.

It is entirely a crisis of Trump’s own making. Wasting immigration resources on going after non-criminals and building an idiotic wall that’s nothing more than a symbol, changing asylum rules without clear direction, separating children from parents and worst of all: a constant flux of leadership at DHS and no confirmed secretary of DHS, CBP or ICE.

Vote for a clown, expect a circus.

The ignorance and underlying hate in one post. Amazing.

If you put yourself and your family at risk is death deserved or just a consequence of your choice?

Told to wait rather than putting them in overcrowded concentration camps you mean?????

It seems like people are confusing requesting asylum with being granted asylum.   It is not illegal to seek asylum, regardless of the reason.  It doesn't mean you will or should be granted asylum, but if you are showing up to the place you should to request asylum, you haven't done anything wrong at that point.

They don't care. Do not shoot them bail by saying they are confused.

We need to stop being civil with the uncivilized.

Elections have consequences.

Don't recall anybody saying differently.

I simply have a problem with the Trump supporter blaming other people for Trump's actions.

(Unless I'm misreading you, and your point is that you're blaming Trump's voters for the problem.)
