Wonder if Walmart will put the no guns sticker up or just let this “public request” be the end of it.

Found this interesting also.

As it relates to concealed carry by customers with permits, there is no change to our policy or approach.

If they put a sticker on the doors at the points of entry it becomes illegal to carry in their store (in states that honor this (which includes Texas...))

instead they’re doing weird public requests.

Seems weird they’d choose to not exercise their legal right to block carrying in their stores and instead would release a weird public request.

And they’re still selling guns

😂

such phony garbage. Either care and take a stand or don’t. I’m sure people are falling for it though.

Yay walmart!

The NRA seems to have fallen for it... they’re raking Walmart for the new “policy.”

So in review: Walmart issues a new policy that does the bare ass minimum, probably to avoid provoking the wrath of the NRA. NRA gets provoked anyway, probably because playing victims helps with donations money.

Reminds me moderate Dems wanting to take moderate positions so republicans won’t be mean and call them socialists... you concede half of your position to republicans right off the bat and they still call you socialist.

These people play by a different set of rules.

I'll take WWJD for $200 Alex.  What is pull a gun to settle an argument?  That is correct, although bonus points awarded if you specified pastors' wives.  Oh, those crazy "Christians."

ARGUMENT BETWEEN WEST VIRIGINIA PASTORS' WIVES ENDS WITH GUNFIRE IN CHURCH PARKING LOT

A pastor's wife in West Virginia has been charged with reckless endangerment after allegedly firing a gun in a church parking lot.

Melinda Frye Toney, 44, is accused of pulling out a pistol that accidentally discharged during an argument with another pastor's wife at New Life Apostolic Church in Oak Hill on May 11.

Toney is the wife of New Life pastor Earl Toney while the other woman, Lori Haywood, is married to New Life's youth pastor, David Haywood,

Fayette Sheriff's Detective Kevin Willis told the Beckley Register-Herald the animosity between the two women had been simmering for some time. Their husbands had thought the women should publicly bury the hatchet to avoid additional strife.

"The pastor and the youth pastor had thought, 'Maybe we could get them together, we can hash this out and fix this before it escalates,' " Willis said Wednesday. "Of course, it just made it worse, I think."

According to Willis, "the straw that broke the camel's back" was an argument over a t-shirt Haywood had was wearing.

Haywood would only say, "We had a disagreement, and when we sat down to talk, I called her out, and she lost it."

Girard 18-year-old accidentally shot by mother after returning from college police say

A young woman comes home from college to surprise her mom, but that surprise turns into horror when her mother thinks an intruder is in the house, and shoots her own daughter.

It's a scenario that is likely a parent's worst nightmare.

For the 18-year-old college student it was the most innocent of intentions, but on the flip-side for her mother -- in the house alone, she became frightened and took measures to protect herself.

21 News obtained the 911 call made by the victim's boyfriend:
CALLER:
"My girlfriend just came home from college and her mom didn't know, like honestly -- she accidentally shot her and we don't know what to do."
DISPATCHER:
"She accidentally shot her?"
CALLER:
"Yes, I believe in the arm."
DISPATCHER:
"Okay and how bad is she bleeding?"
CALLER:
"IT'S PRETTY BAD."

Girard Police Chief John Norman tells 21 News, "The mother who has a valid CCW permit - even though she was in her own house, was startled by some noises she heard in the kitchen or hallway area.  She stated that the bedroom door opened where she was at -- and she had a gun readily available and she fired a round at someone coming through the door."

Old Doonsberry comic that stuck in my head.  Scene is a hospital room, where Zonker is the patient.  Two ATF agents are questioning his Uncle Duke.

"So, Mr. Duke.  You say your nephew here came home from college to visit you.  But when he arrived home, you were passed out upstairs.  So, when you awoke, and heard sunds of movement from upstairs, and having forgotten that your Nephew was coming home t vists, you picked u the .05 cal machine gun which you illegally brought hime from Vietnam, stood at the head of the stairs, and sprayed the floor with full auto machine gun fire?"

"That's right."

"Sir, don't you think that a .50 cal machine gun is a bit excessive for home defense?"

"But what if they try to hide behind the refrigerator?"

I’m sure I’ve asked this before...but where is the logic in refusing to allow a law-abiding citizen to open carry or concealed carry when the law-breaking citizen with murderous intent will just break that law in addition to murdering people?  In a country with millions of guns and millions of law breakers?  Does anybody really believe a place with a sign stating “No Guns Allowed” is going to stop a killer from walking in said place and opening fire?  What does any of that really accomplish other than guarantee the killer a lot of helpless victims to shoot up?

Not one one of these shootings has made me think the proper response is for me and you to voluntarily turn in all our guns and stop buying ammo.  I can’t see a situation where I EVER think something like that is a good idea no matter how many times this happens.  The problem is not the gun.

You sound extremely sexually frustrated. Try playing all of the lowest keys on a piano at the same time.

Yes, you and millions of other people have mindlessly recited the mantra that the fact that some people will break laws means that the laws shouldn't exist at all.

It didn't make sense the first million times, either.
