So with the NFL rookie voting, they put up 5 rookies, Cooper, Gurley, Winston, Peters and Lockett.

Now, I understand Cooper, Gurley and Peters, no brainers. But for the life of me I cant figure out why Preston Smith is being so ignored. Lockett was 60th among receivers. Smith was 22nd in sacks, and with 4 passes defensed 3 FF and 1 FR would make him a top 15-20 defender. Winston was 28th among QBs in QB rating. What gives?

Not saying your point is wrong, but you're overlooking that Lockett was probably the best returner in the NFL this year.

In one rookie season, Preston Smith have better overall stats that Jadeveon Clowney in his career. :P

 

Clowney:

47 Tackles - 32 Solo 15 Assists.

4.5 Sacks

6 Pass Def

1 FF

 

Preston Smith:

35 Tackles - 24 Solo 11 Assists

8 Sacks

4 Pass Def

Starting to think we're going to come into this game loose and ready to go, and the Packers are going to be tight and more easily flustered.

Gruden is the perfect personality to get us ready after this season. We're overachieving and the playoffs are gravy, go have some fun and win.

Whereas the Packers are under a ton of pressure...they underachieved this year, and there's reports of tension between their star QB and their HC. If they lose to the "don't deserve to be there" NFCE representative, it's gonna start to get real loud in WI.

They're doubling down and HAVE to win because they already lost the rent money. We're playing with house money.

That's a good position to be in and one Gruden has to like--pressure was mounting in CIN before he left because Dalton couldn't win a playoff game. Now he can quietly get that monkey off his back in a city that is just grateful to be there.

The Packers cant lose to the "Terrible NFC LEast" team. So theres that.

True, two TDs on returns are a nice bonus, but I dont think they are enough to take him from being top 60 to top 20 among receivers.  And if he cant be that, then I think Preston Smith is having the better year.

In fairness, it would be odd to put us in the statement considering they already wiped the floor with us.

At the same time, it's hard not to take it as a shot considering he named every team but ours.

 

I kind of feel the bottom is more true, think it was dumb on his part honestly. I would have said, you know since we played the Skins they have gotten hot, so there is that as well.

They did not wipe the floor with us.  They were aided by yet another bad call by the refs that would have given us a very big lead.  The thing is that we actually match up very well with them.
