Koolblue13
Last year, arguably the blocking from the TEs even Paulsen was subpar. If he is 80% of what he once (he was never fast but could get open) and can still block -- maybe? But in a rebuilding year, I wouldn't put him on the roster unless they decide to dump Paulsen. They don't IMO need 4 TEs.what are we REbuilding? We're we recently good and are taking a couple years off to replace aging super stars? No. There is nothing to REbuild. We are building a team. Hopefully anyway. Why do people keep saying REbuild?
The Wicked Wop
I love Cooley. Give him a shot. Hell, even though he's been retired, he's still seen the field more often than Reed. I'm a fan, not a GM... the fan would love to see Cooley again. But I would hire Joe Gibbs back for JGIII, because, well, I'm nostalgic This is why its great to finally have a GM to say I don't care about nostalgia, or fan favorites from years past, I care about putting a team on the field that has a better chance of winning then last year and has many of the key pieces I need for the future. jflow78
I love Cooley. Give him a shot. Hell, even though he's been retired, he's still seen the field more often than Reed. He only played in 5 games during his last season. I'm not sure he actually WOULD see more time than Reed. I'm not against bringing Cooley back, I just don't want to see him get embarrassed. He's been out of the game for a few years now, it's not like riding a bicycle. I used to love Royce Gracie. The guy was UFC. I watched his fight against Matt Hughes, thinking because he was good when younger he'd be able to take this guy out, no problem. Well, as you all may know, the fight was akin to watching your grandpa get beat down after picking a fight. It was not fun. I don't think Cooley would do THAT bad, I just don't think he'll do that good either. If we don't want Paulsen, find some young guy who can't run and is just a blocker instead. ...Why do people keep saying REbuild? I'm not sure why you're so against "rebuild"? Haven't you heard of a 25 year plan?

Reaper 21
To be fair Cooley is younger than two of the top TE's from last season (Gates, Witten). There is no reason he would not excel as our third TE. I mean think about all of the times Paulson was in the game last year, wouldn't of made you more happy as a fan if it was Cooley, even an old slower Cooley. Isn't that what being a fan is about? I wish we would sign him, and I hope he scores one more time so we can all yell COOOOOLLEY and truly get to remember him one more time. Ryan Clark started games last year for us and we were okay with it. We would be able to deal with Cooley as a third TE.

RedBeast
Cooley is not signing here gents. Great guy. Great Redskin. Past his time and a new regime is in place. Quit this reminiscent love of days gone by... its not healthy, productive or feasible with SMs philosophy. Thank God.

RedBeast
New nickname? Wasn't it "Capital Punishment/National Defense" back during the JG1 era? Its like using Hogs again. Totally destroy a few good offensive lines first, than we can think about naming it. Like in Fury...they all light up a cigarette and take a swig from the bottle, when it comes to Ellison's turn he takes a big swig from the bottle..."Goddamn, son. You a fighting, ****ing, drinking machine, ain't you? "Machine, that's it, that's his war name." Right now your name is Fat Pork Sandwich.

People will find out about this because they release this info whenever something happens. The 90th man on the roster isn't breaking news. Neither is a deal on some t-shirt the Monday after a loss. All in all, this breaking news might make you happy. Maybe it means Cooley gets a chance to be #90 to open camp.

This is NOT breaking news. This is NOT something that season ticket holders really care about. Touting is as both is an insult. That actually bothers you? If so, you must search high and low for things to **** about lol...because usually when something doesn't matter to someone, they barely use any of their time or brain power thinking about it, nonetheless letting it get to them. They yawn and go about their day. I can't help but think it actually excited you to see the Skins mention releasing a little-known RB under the heading "breaking news", because you felt it gave you a new reason to harp on something.
