jflow78 Posted July 24, 2015 Share Posted July 24, 2015 To be fair Cooley is younger than two of the top TE's from last season (Gates, Witten). There is no reason he would not excel as our third TE. I mean think about all of the times Paulson was in the game last year, wouldn't of made you more happy as a fan if it was Cooley, even an old slower Cooley. Isn't that what being a fan is about? I wish we would sign him, and I hope he scores one more time so we can all yell COOOOOLLEY and truly get to remember him one more time. Ryan Clark started games last year for us and we were okay with it. We would be able to deal with Cooley as a third TE. We were NOT okay with Ryan Clark starting games last year. We were terrible at the safety position. If your idea of celebrating the return of a veteran by sacrificing skill at that position, then why don't we bring back all the Skins legends and have Sonny start at QB. I mean, if we're giving up on the season, why not just go all the way. Mark Mosely at kicker, cut Forbath. I'm just sayin', there's not really a good reason to do this. I'M hoping that the Skins have a couple NEW Skins legends on their roster that we can cheer for. No need to bring back one who can't even start now. Portis will be on the sidelines this season, can't that suffice. Sure he won't be suited up, but neither would Cooley. I don't want him to came back for that very reason. He'd make a hell of a goal line tight end and if he could catch at all with his size and athleticism he'd be scary. Put him on the end as an extra blocker and then have him release.
