Yeah, I mean unless you want to talk about........ ??? Can't really think of anything else to talk about. Been calling on our battlefield medics every game and its left us with George Romero zombie level replacements Its a slow shuffling, mindless, spittle filled race to the finish line. I definitely get where you're coming from, but a segment or two should be enough time for that topic. Like Riggo was saying they drill topics into the ground, we all know Kirk is leaving so when he does that's going to be the topic for a week or two. And it's the never wrong above everyone attitude that rubs folk the wrong way about Grant.

I don't listen to much sports talk anymore because the angry tones and endless rehashing problems just doesn't work for me. Maybe that's what most listeners want, outrage seem to be a formula media of all types favor, but I prefer sports shows that are fun. You'd think with a comedian and a weirdo they'd be able to do funny. If I were putting their show together I'd get a funny minority **** talker from the DMV to lead it and let Danny and Grant play off that person. Personally, I'd prefer a female host but that seems to be unpopular in the sports fan market. The show needs an injection of cool that neither of those nerds can give it. I want to hear someone call Grant a bama on the air and laugh as he tries to defend wearing khakis. I've said this in other threads but talking sports at its most enjoyable, for me, has a barber shop or cook out quality to it. Humorous takes, outraged retorts, and lots of laughter. That's how most of us talk sports. At least that's been my experience. We don't discuss football with friends like we're discussing financial markets (unless we're talking fantasy football). Sports are entertainment, and discussing it should be entertaining. I don't want some angry guy telling me why they're absolutely right. Im not the average listener though, so this could all be horrible.

ThisOneGoesTo11
I'm so tired of the emp180 commercials that have overtaken both stations. Sounds like atkins and a life coach for the cost of a used car.
hail2skins
Are the Wizards talked about a lot on local sports talk radio? You would think that'd be a min topic of conversation given how the team seems to be underachieving.

Wizards could win 72 games, win the Eastern Conference multiple times, and even win a NBA championship... and the 1067 and 980 guys would still talk about Kirk Cousins contract Edited December 25, 2017 by ixcuincle

Kornheiser used to open up every radio show with the Nationals and or Wizards, even for regular season games. That's what made him the best. Now that he's on podcast he feels like he doesn't have to do local radio as much anymore so he barely talks local teams in the open.

When they station is owned by the team. Employs a number of former players as hosts. It's what happens. They'll say nobody wants to hear them talk about Nats or Caps or Terps or Wiz. They've also never put a real effort into it. Wish they'd rotate shows based on who is playing. Diversify hosts with different backgrounds. Momma There Goes That Man
You can say a lot about LeBetard but boring isn’t one of them. I mean he has Tim Kurkjian on weekly and in between callers asking baseball or life questions they try to make him laugh by saying “this person in sports looks like such and such”. I mean they do a ton of hilarious regular segments on there that keeps it far beyond typical mundane sports talk. And when they do talk sports it’s on the edge stuff like racism or perspectives and ideas that rarely get talked about i think he’s excellent ——- also, did I hear that Russillo is leaving ESPN to write screenplays in Hollywood? What? Edited December 27, 2017 by Momma There Goes That Man

@DCGoldPants
This morning 980 was replaying the post game show from last night. 106.7 had Andy Polling being grumpy. Then I just get in the car for a few and while 980 is playing a bowl game (makes sense), 106.7 puts Chris Russell on? He's grading the Redskins by unit. Sure Cooley will do that this week. Probably 5 other shows too. DC sports curses must extend to program managers on the radio because this sucks. I'm not entertained and I'm not learning anything about whatever they are yammering about. Maybe I simply am not their target audience. Male 18-49. But I'm tired of this echo chamber of the same old people with the same old takes and the only difference is if they speak or scream.

ixcuincle
Things we now know about the Stephen A. Smith Show on ESPN Radio • has about 95% NFL and NBA talk • constantly invites Carlton in Tampa on to give him a platform to hate on the Patriots at which point SAS laughs over his phone call or argues with him for about 5 minutes • argues repeatedly with callers who are ignorant, and has even banned a caller for a week for suggesting the Clippers would win the championship • invites regular guests on and hilariously argues with them in a joking manner. Had Keyshawn on and Keyshawn implied he was an Eagles fan and SAS told him "You watch yo mouth" • repeatedly puts himself out there as an edgy character by mentioning that he is "part of ESPN, Mickey Mouse" but this take "has to be said" "Nobody else is saying this, so I will. Yeah I said it." • constantly name drops his connections with celebrity families such as CP3 mom or Robert Kraft • constantly mentions that he is in "over 250 markets nationwide and on Sirius XM channel 80" • loves the TV comedy "Martin" Despite all this the Stephen A Smith show is still the best show on ESPN radio right now.
