You can probably guess where the Skins rank...

The rankings here try to take into account everything the 32 NFL
backfields have to offer, in order to determine the top combos. Have at
it:

Tier 1

1. Baltimore Ravens (Ray Rice, Bernard Pierce; FB Vonta Leach)

2. Houston Texans (Arian Foster, Ben Tate; FB Greg Jones)

3. Minnesota Vikings (Adrian Peterson, Toby Gerhart; FB Jerome Felton)

4. Seattle Seahawks (Marshawn Lynch, Christine Michael, Robert Turbin; FB Michael Robinson)

5. San Francisco 49ers (Frank Gore, Kendall Hunter, LaMichael James; FB Bruce Miller)

6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Doug Martin, Brian Leonard; FB Erik Lorig)

Tier 2

7. New England Patriots (Stevan Ridley, Shane Vereen, LeGarrette Blount)

8. Atlanta Falcons (Steven Jackson, Jacquizz Rodgers)

9. Philadelphia Eagles (LeSean McCoy, Bryce Brown)

10. Buffalo Bills (C.J. Spiller, Fred Jackson)

11. Chicago Bears (Matt Forte, Michael Bush)

Tier 3

12. New Orleans Saints (Pierre Thomas, Mark Ingram, Darren Sproles)

13. Tennessee Titans (Chris Johnson, Shonn Greene; FB Craig Stevens)

14. Kansas City Chiefs (Jamaal Charles, Knile Davis)

15. New York Giants (David Wilson, Andre Brown; FB Henry Hynoski)

16. Detroit Lions (Reggie Bush, Joique Bell, Mikel Leshoure)

17. Cincinnati Bengals (BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Giovani Bernard)

18. Cleveland Browns (Trent Richardson, Brandon Jackson)

19. Washington Redskins (Alfred Morris, Roy Helu; FB Darrel Young)

20. Jacksonville Jaguars (Maurice Jones-Drew, Justin Forsett, Denard Robinson)

Did they happen to give any analysis or commentary to explain their rankings?  I would like to hear/see the author's explanation of why he/she thinks the number two rusher in the league for the entire season last year can barely get his backfield in the top 20.

Basically, he thinks the backup doesn't deserve to hold Morris' jockstrap. He may have a point, but I'm not sure if that's enough to drop the Skins down so far.

Assume it will be a variation of "Well, RG3 makes Morris look good".

You know, just like the folks saying that RG3 isn't that hot, the Skins running game makes him look good.

I don't know if a Mike Shanahan team has ever been this running back poor in his entire career. And to think, we even drafted 2 RB's to try and improve upon our RB who set the franchise record for yards in a season last year. It's gonna be a long season.

One question, counting the QB's rushing yards, where did the Skins rank in total rushing yards last season? I'm guessing somewhere near the bottom of the NFL according to SI.

Interesting, considering that a healthy Helu is better than anything we had behind Morris last season, in my opinion.
