Clinton Portis is one of our all time great players. He gave us his all under Gibbs even though he seemed to get injured and frustrated with Zorn and didn't go out the best way possible. He worked his ass off in 2005 and 2007.

I remember his first run from scrimmage as a Skin...touchdown. We ran his ass into the ground and he played on some crappy teams. He spoke his mind, which sometimes drove me nuts, but he was a baller. We have not had a back since that was even close to the blocker that he was.

Thanks Clinton! I'm glad he is retiring as a Redskin. That first run was awesome, I'll never forget it. Too bad he went downhill so fast because of injuries and Zorn. I also enjoyed his Thursday press conference characters and missed them when he stopped.

Blocking is such an underrated aspect of playing Running Back. So many people don't understand its importance. Portis was one of the best blocking backs I've ever seen. his ability to pick up the Blitz was such a crucial aspect of his game

My favorite moment was against the Eagles in 2005. The hop spin move at the line of scrimmage and the speed to beat the safety to the end zone was a thing of beauty. That set up the Sean Taylor snatch and score. Good times...

No negative memories of him. I don't ever recall him giving anything less than 100% even when he was banged up. Even if he wasn't the quickest RB he was fun to watch.
