Kinda hard to do since there's going to be close to 90 guys technically on the roster soon, and no telling what UDFA's will get signed and if any of them end up being surprise pickups who make the squad. Gimme full roster and then I'll predict a final 53 including PS. Kinda like saying here's some cheese and a stick of pepperoni, now go make me a pizza.

Oh btw, you listed 54 guys for the 53 man roster...somebody's gotta go to PS.

Too much to process right now. I will say, however, that I don't see us re-signing Hightower. Not after we drafted Morris and considering Hightower is coming off a torn ACL. I like the guy tremendously but I just don't see it. Helu, Royster, Morris at RB.

Neither of you had Anthony Armstrong at WR. Is he gone for sure?

Just looking at these 53 man projections...is anyone else seriously concerned about our secondary next year? We better hope our front 7 can generate a lot of pressure on opposing QB's next year (like the Giants do, their secondary isn't anything special either), because I don't see a lot of talent back there right now.

Well, there is a reason why the Skins have a new secondary coach. I think it was more scheme than anything. Always seemed to be playing way off the ball.

Personally, I think or hope they are wrong. At this point, I can't see keeping Austin over Armstrong. Productionwise, even last year, where Armstrong had a hammy and a sophmore slump, I just don't see it.

Yeah, I'm thinking Hightower doesn't come back, though it's possible after they get a look at the two new guys.

I think Paul definitely makes the team.

I think Robinson makes it.

Hurt has a shot (did he play too many games to be put on the PS?)

6 safeties is a lot. I only see this happening if Griffin covers both positions (FS and corner).

If I had to guess, Compton makes it over Polumbus (potential/youth trumps Polumbus' journeyman status). Although he (polumbus) brings the benefit of playing outside and in, I think they love their rookie lineman (this could change of course).

I don't see any justifiable reason to have Terrence Austin on our roster. He had a chance to show something last year with all the injuries to our receivers and he showed nothing.

I think Compton makes the roster and we go a little heavy with linemen - the caveat here is my sleeper pick: Chris Chester is a surprise cut. He's got a decent sized contract and I don't think he was worth it last year. Gettis played at RG and LeRibeus said he's comfortable playing both.

Given Morris' ability to pass protect and catch the ball out of the backfield, I would not be shocked to see us go with 4 RB's if we re-sign Hightower...IF we re-sign him, but I think we will. He was a great locker room guy and has plenty of experience that Morris lacks. But I think Morris is on the final 53 by the end of the year.

Having Paul at TE really helps us because he's a flex player that can also count as a WR so we don't have to be so WR heavy like we were last year. The same can be said at other positions such as Cedric Griffin being a kind of flex CB/S. Players like this allow you to count them in both position categories so you can stock up at other positions.

I don't see Chris Wilson making the roster, we're too stocked at OLB as Jackson and White are already quality backups that can get after the QB better than Wilson anyway and are young players.

There are going to be some surprise cuts among the veterans this year and I think this may be the year we see Reed Doughty go. I could be wrong, I know Shanahan always raves about him. I know he works his ass off and is a good locker room guy but I just don't think that's going to be able to justify his lack of athletic ability any longer. It may be him, it may be someone else but a 53 man roster just does not allow enough room to keep everyone. There are going to have to be some surprise cuts this year.

Of course there are always injuries and such that allow the roster to be tweaked letting players move up and down from the PS almost weekly. I have a strong feeling that Lichtensteiger starts the year on the PUP list and so Chester may very well remain with the team. It's hard for me to see us cutting ties with a guy with such experience and 16 starts last year but I think the two rookies and Hurt are so much younger and have so much more upside it may be best to just cut ties.

Neil Rackers will end up as our kicker, I bet.

Dude is impressive that's for sure. Still I'm wondering why has he been cut so many times lately.

In his prime, it's a no brainer that he's we'll above Gano.

Right now, I'm not so sure that's a long term solution that is really worth it, even if K can play until their 40s.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rackers beat Gano during preseason, still I'd stay with Gano as our K, but the competition will be interesting between the 2. And if Rackers plays great and Gano beats him, then it's just great for us.

So, I would say, that even here, the Redskins look in good position to improve, one way or another.

Can Rackers kick the ball hard enough to have consistently touchbacks on kickoffs like Gano? That should also be a consideration.

Good point, if rackers can demonstrate equal or better leg strength on kickoffs like gano, then I believe his chances are very good at making the team. His accuracy on field goals has to be an upgrade over gano, imo.

Actually, Gano is pretty accurate....if you take into account the blocked kicks.

I don't get the "love" for Rackers by so many Skins fans. As inconsistent as Gano was two years ago, he still kicked better than Rackers in both years. The 5 blocks last year were not Gano's fault. Every block was the fault of the line. Rackers is on the tail end of his career and Gano is getting better. Grass is not always greener.....

I don't get the "love" for Rackers. Gano was more accurate than Rackers the last two years, has longer kickoffs, longer hang time and more touchbacks. Rackers is old and on the decline. Gano is getting better each year. You can't hold the five blocks against Gano. Every single block was the fault of the line; not Gano.
