Time to Cut Antwan Randle Banks

If we get Eddie Royal in FA next year, consider him GONE. Royal can return kicks, punts, and is already an established #2 receiver. I seriously think Shanahan is gonna go after him in FA, since he drafted him in Denver. And Eddie would LOVE to be back home in D.C. (he's from Herndon, Va, former Hokie)

As a fan I don't like calling for a player's head. It is their livelihood, after all. That said, Banks has always been a little overrated and the roster is loaded with guys who could probably perform similarly. (Maybe a dumb idea, but AA, obviously not immediately but in the future?)

anybody else feel that b. banks is one more "bad" game from being cut? i mean, if has one more fumble, or muffs two more kicks in a game ... i think its curtains.

Yeah, most likely.

There's something missing from him lately. The blocking has been a little better in the last couple games IMO, but he still isn't doing much. The muffs are inexcusable.

Well, I'm happy with his two nice punt returns, but he will need to show up more than a couple times per year for me to believe he deserves a roster spot simply to return kicks.

Who are we picking up when we cut him???

It's not like the WR's on the depth chart ahead of him are so amazing and he is keeping some pro bowler off the team. He makes more plays with the ball than any other WR's after the catch. We need someone like him.

I'm not passionate enough about it to really debate with you. I just don't believe that a return specialist who doesn't change field position very often should be given a roster spot with no questions asked.

If he gains more consistency, he's the type of player that might be worthwhile. Not yet in my opinion.

After today, I think we can just go ahead and close this ridiculous thread.

BB has given us multiple opportunities with excellent field position today.

Right...he finally positively impacted one of our games in week 11. Check mate.

That's fine I'm really not either. I don't think he's given a spot without questions though. I think the questions they asked are along the lines of the ones I asked. If we could bring in a playmaker WR and needed that spot instead of a return guy, I'd be all for cutting him. In reality right now though, that is not the situation.

haha you are so committed to this terrible, absurd opinion that you've set it up so that even if he single handedly beats the cowboys, we should still cut him monday morning.

Are you really crowing about Banks FINALLY having a great game, this late in the season?

Cut Banks and then sign who?

Another Donte or Anderson? Another no name WR to sit on the bench and be forgettable? If we find a WR we like in the draft or FA, then you can cut banks for that guy, I'd rather cut Donte, Anderson, Robinson (where is he anyways), than Banks, since Banks has a use unlike these depth players.

I've been down on Banks for awhile now. I'm tired of seeing him bring the ball out from 6 yards deep in the endzone just to get tackled at the 15 every item. It's bad enough that our offense usually can't get out of it's own way so the opposing team is always playing on a half a field without u starting every drive behind the 20. That said, I was pleasantly surprised with his output this week. Not just his big returns, but just his solid KRs to the 25-30. He showed vision. I'll lay off the guy for a bit.
