Sticksboi05
Well, with the recent "generation" of new browser upgrades out, which do you have and if you have one, perhaps your reasoning can be debunked.
BRAVEONTHEWARPATH93
Firefox Everybody was talking about it and I was sick of IE, so yeah
AngloSackSon
I am planning on trying Chrome, but currently using Firefox 4.0. One thing that sucks about the current Firefox is incompatibility issues with Norton 360...
jnhay
I'm still using Firefox 3, didn't see the "Other" option. I'll wait to update for a little while, because I'm sure many of my extensions will stop working with Firefox 4.

Sticksboi05
Firefox 4.0 - all my add-ons work fine but I don't have nearly as much as a lot of other people. 4.0 has some major changes to the Gecko engine to make it much faster.

Springfield
I use Firefox. Actually, this thread reminded me to download the new 4.0... so, thanks for that!
UNC-Skins
chrome is faster than firefox, but firefox still has better compatibility with some websites. i can't go back to firefox, though. like switching from dial up to cable. going back seems so slow. polywog999
To me....Fire is slooooooow. I notice it mostly on older PC's. I use Chrome and it is tops. Very little spyware - lots of features, oh and faaaaast!

Corcaigh
All of them are the same. Define "same". Here's one set of benchmarks against FF3.5 and IE8: http://sixrevisions.com/infographs/browser-performance/ - a little dated but still with some good information. Sticksboi05
Benchmarks are only so telling because you can test things that are strengths of individual browsers to make it look superior. Plus I love when people say "it's faster" and you test it and it's a difference of like milliseconds as if you can detect that.
No Excuses
I use Chrome but that's only because it came installed on my laptop and I never bothered getitng Firefox. Chrome worked just fine. I'll use anything as long as it's not IE. Maybe the newer versions of IE aren't bad but IE used to be complete garbage.
Unforgiven
Firefox 4 If you can see a big difference in speed between that and Chrome then you must have a pretty old/slow PC. To each his own though, the best browser is the one you like the most.

Sticksboi05
Which I'm aware of, but browsers have different individual strengths and a lot of times websites will put out one benchmark test and claim it to be the end all be all of deciding the superior browser. Springfield
You make no sense at all. The benchmarks test for specific behavior and they explain why they are important. The benchmarks show that certain types of sites will have very, very different levels of performance dependent on the browser, while others will not. The benchmark test that you posted has a differentiation from the fastest (Chrome) to the slowest (IE) in fractions of a second. When the difference between the fastest and the slowest is less than one second, it really comes down to personal preference. I like both Firefox and Chrome myself and it has much more to do with a cleaner look and functionality than it does with speed of either browser. A comparison: Your friend has a car that will run 1/4 mile in 11.8 seconds. Your car runs 1/4 mile in 12.1 seconds. Both cars are fast and in real world driving you likely wouldn't be able to guess which one is faster.
Sticksboi05
A big part of what I was saying Springfield. A lot of reviews fail to put things in perspective. This isn't the difference between American Airlines and the Concorde in 1999.
fullnelson9999
I'm reluctantly using Chrome until I can figure out why my Ad Block Plus isn't working on Firefox. I'll never again use a browser without AdBlock Plus.
