Going Commando
That was a really bad loss. And now we're going to tumble well below .500.
Chachie
Jeff Green was unconscious tonight. Put it on his hometown. Humphries always humbles the Wizards under the bucket. This is not good. You have to win these games (sub-par opponents at home) if you're to believe you're moving forward. So frustrating. (Although I gotta say it- the refs were letting Boston steal money tonight.) Edit- That last drive and layup by Gerald Wallace left a real bad taste in my mouth. Wiz blew it bad there. Very amateur. @DCGoldPants
This loss will weigh on these fragile players like a 5 game losing streak. Ugh
CRobi21
Bad officiating. Random rookie nobody playing like Isaiah Thomas. Wizards basketball. I feel like Robert feels in your sig right about now.
Going Commando
Well that sucked. .... And now for a road trip from hell. Nets are going to fly by the wizards in the standings and never look back. The road trip isn't that bad. 2-2 is doable on the road trip. What's bad is the three home games at the beginning of February. We'll be on a 5 game losing streak by the time we get Cleveland. We didn't take advantage of that home stand at all. We beat Miami and then went 2-2 in four games where we had to win all of them.

TradeTheBeal!
The Celtics are/were 28th in the league in 3pt shooting. That was before the great Phil Pressey - 1.6 ppg, 5 career 3pts made - got the start. Essentially, this is like John Wall straining his hamstring in warmups and Garrett Temple going for 35 points on the road against the Knicks. One in a million…. StillUnknown
Wonderful defense. Its Wittman's calling card. He has hit his peak with this team. **** Ted if he extends him.
Going Commando
The Celtics are/were 28th in the league in 3pt shooting. And yet they make what, 15 threes? Including an utter BS Jeff Green step back against a double team off one leg. We weren't meant to win that game. So depressing. Should have never fallen behind like we did in the first quarter though. That was flat out pathetic.

TheItalianStallion
This has been one of the most frustrating stretches during all my years as a DC sports fan. Not the worst, but most frustrating. I think our D was pretty good (well, aside from that horrible play with Wallace at the end...); they just kept making low % shots. From a bad shooting team. We always seem to draw these subpar teams on nights when one or more of their players is inexplicably red hot. Very similar to our loss to Milwaukee back when we were at 9-9. Yes, there is no excuse for the bad start, but even when we got back in it they kept making ridiculous shots. I'm not a superstitious or spiritual person, but nights like this give me pause........ Ozymandias
Good game from Wall as far as the stat sheet goes, but some out of control drives to the lane. We are not destined to be over .500 i guess
Renegade7
If Wall has a triple double and we're still losing at home to teams under .500, maybe it is time to consider a trade. We have a couple players overacheiving, but that doesn't make them great basketball players. Maybe this the year of gaining respectability again, and waiting for players like Seraphin, Booker, and Beal to grow even more next year. Right now we only have one elite talent player, and that's why Kevin Love has never won anything in the NBA and why Bron Bron and Bosh joined Wade in Miami. We have players to win, but we don't have players to kill. Edited January 23, 2014 by Renegade7
JCav06
Here's how the season will play out: The Wizards will end the season 41-41 and lose in the first round in a seven game series in which they will never lead. They will then proceed to win the first game of the 2014-15 season at which point they will brag about finally getting over the hump.

Lol, needed this laugh.I was so confident we were going to win this game, even when we were down big. But the terrible start, bad calls, and inconsistent play got the better of us today. StillUnknown
http://www.bulletsforever.com/2014/1/22/5336806/team-usa-roster-bradley-beal-john-wall Well, here's a surprise. There's a member of the Washington Wizards on the 28-person list of candidates for Team USA's roster for the next three years, and it's not John Wall. In fact, it's Bradley Beal, according to the official list obtained by ESPN. The guards that made the pool besides Beal: Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Kyrie Irving, Deron Williams, Stephen Curry, James Harden, Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson, Gordon Hayward and Kyle Korver. The final three, along with Beal, are obviously there as shooting specialists, but that's still a lot of players in Wall's peer group that made it over him. To be clear: This means that we won't be seeing John Wall suiting up for Team USA for the next three years, and it'll be an uphill climb to get back into the mix beyond that. Wall's game isn't especially well suited for international ball because of his lack of shooting, so there was always a chance this could happen. But it's still pretty stunning that Wall couldn't even make a preliminary list of candidates. (Worth noting: DeMarcus Cousins, his Kentucky teammate, did make the cut). SiCkSoULjA
Wall has to be better than 9-28 from the field. I agree but he played his ass off, I don't mind him playing hard and having a bad shooting night Wall went 110% the whole night while the rest of the team was in LALA land. Wall had at least 6 shots blocked at the rim it seems like, on some there should have been a foul called. We had 2 wide open shots from Nene inside the top of the key if he hit one we win. Turnovers did us in and Wall had 6 of them at least 3 came on trying to draw a foul going hard in the lane. When does Beal come off his minutes restriction? I support the training staff 100% making sure our young star don't reinjure himself we need him. Webster gave up a easy lay up that lost us the game at the end. Bottom line we didn't match there intensity and effort the whole game, Green, that Pressey gun, Sullinger, Humfries and Wallace ran us out the gym for most of the night and Wall was the only one imo that really tried to match there effort. Rocky21
OK we shouldn't have lost to this Boston team and we sure as Hell shouldn't have been down as many as we were in the first half. Jeff Green made two absolutely ridiculous shots in the last few minutes. It looks like we are scared to have a winning record. I think we have been .500 five times this season and have lost that potential winning record game each time.
@DCGoldPants
am I the only one who thinks if they hired a George Karl....this team might have 5 more wins right now? Randy seems like a decent enough guy. But man....it also seems like he's just watching the game with the rest of us.
Popeman38
Luckily, I got to watch that meltdown in person. Randy Wittman's insistence on running an 8 man rotation might win us a few games now, but it will lose us a few down the stretch. Use your "depth" now, and shorten your bench down the stretch. Beal n Wall are gonna run outta gas. Have the ball at the end of the game with 39 seconds left. Tie game. Get 2 for 1 there, don't bleed the clock down and give the Celtics 13.8 seconds to dagger us. Wall had a good stats game, but he could have easily taken over in the last 2 min and controlled the end of the game instead of chasing the end of the game. Nene twice to win it? NENE? Beal on the bench. On the floor you have Wall, Gortat, Nene, Webster, Ariza. Why not Wall, Gortat/Nene, Webster, Ariza, Beal? You know, 4 shooters and a screen? And Wittman does NOTHING except whine to the officials all game. He never sets up a play, never designs **** for this team.
No Excuses
Wittman is here because he's cheap and a yes man to Ernie and Ted. They will never hire a coach like George Karl. You guys remember when we had Tom Thibadeu as the defense coach for two days? Dude saw the clown show here and dipped out. Witt is getting a three extension the moment this team clinches a playoff seed. It will be followed by a smug blog post by Ted telling everyone what a ****ing genius he is. **** Ted.
