TK Posted November 2, 2009 Share Posted November 2, 2009 PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Release November 2, 2009 REDSKINS MAKE ROSTER MOVES LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed fullback Eddie Williams to their 53-man roster and tackle Clint Oldenburg to their practice squad. Williams, who the Redskins selected in the seventh round (221st overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft, spent the first eight weeks of season on the team’s practice squad. Oldenburg was most recently a member of Minnesota’s practice squad from Oct. 14, 2009 to Oct. 17, 2009 after spending training camp with the Denver Broncos. Originally drafted by the New England Patriots in the fifth round (171st overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft, Oldenburg started his career on the Patriots’ practice squad before being released on Sept. 19, 2007 and signing with the New York Jets’ practice squad on Sept.20, 2007. Oldenburg was elevated to the Jets 53-man roster on Dec. 19, 2007 and saw action in the final two regular season games, making his NFL debut at Tennessee (12/23/07). After spending training camp with the Jets, Oldenburg spent the final 11 weeks of the 2008 season as a member of the St. Louis Rams practice squad. Even if there isn't much out there right now, it wouldn't hurt to bring some in and see what they have. Can't be any worse than what we have now.
