Dan T.
Right after his long touchdown reception yesterday, Santana Moss gave the "STFU" signal to fans, holding his index finger to his mouth in the librarian-like "be quiet" gesture. I've never seen a player do that in his home stadium. Has anybody heard an explanation for why Santana did that? I know there was booing at the end of the first half, but nothing that deserved that response from him.
Malcomb Kelly
I noticed that too... but then he started dancing so... i didn't think too much of it.
TD_washingtonredskins
I think you answered your own question. Players are people and that was probably intended for the fans that decided to boo. It doesn't matter if the booing deserved that response from him or not (in your opinion), that had to be what it was in response to.
skinscountry
I have seen him do that gesture before in other games. Don't recall if they were home or away. Don't think it's a big deal. I think you are reading way too much into it. HTTR!!!!!!!

Redskins Diehard
Funny thing is if they did that more often then he wouldn't have to worry about the boos

Guess he was telling the fans to STFU too, huh?
RenegadeTK
i took it as more of a "relax, we got this" gesture.... not a "stfu" gesture. and i can understand his frustration. it has to be terrible to have your own fans boo you at home. players should be excited to play in front of their home crowd, not dreading it. we need to get back to giving our team the much-needed home-field advantage. TSO
lol, he had a brain fart. You could tell, cuz he remembered where he was and quickly put his finger down like "oh, shiznit". I thought it was hilarious. :hysterical: I think it's more of a reflex too.
Bang
It's very possible there were some Bucs fans there in the end zone he was shushing. At least that's what I'm sticking with. ~Bang
Destino
Shows you how great the players feel about their home field "advantage".

darrell1106
Was that when it was still basically 13-9? It was never 13-9. That made it 16-10 and the final score being 13-16 w/ ther last FG.
ouvan59
I hope the players are mad at the fans and I hope it makes them play better. All they have to do to shut up the boos is play one or two really good complete games. They haven't done that in a year.

All they have to do to shut up the boos is play one or two really good complete games. They haven't done that in a year. Why on earth would the players be mad at the fans? The fans have had every right to boo them and boo them loudly. As for Moss, I'm glad that he decided to use one of the few times that he actually managed to beat his man and get seperation yesterday to antagonize the fans. ntotoro
It was never 13-9. That made it 16-10 and the final score. The final was 16-13. I think I did make a mistake, though. I think it was actually 10-9 after Barber blocked the extra point on the first TD.

Chants
If Santana scores one 50+ yarder TD per game, and shushes the fans one time per game, I can live with that.

RichmondRedskin88
Maybe he was imagining he was at Tampa Bay being booed at for scoring and decided to hand sign to the pirate ship you don't need to shoot your cannons off for me
