Going off the actions of the last 20 years or so, I'd say the GOP.

Clinton affair violation somehow greater than the Bush Iraq war.

Patriot Act/Domestic Spying

Torture

The McCain campaign with Sarah and her pithy lies that were repeated ad nauseum by her supporters.

Now the Health Care debate.

And those are just the biggies.

How about Michael Dukakis letting killers go free :)

I'm curious just how far of a distortion of facts is acceptable to most of you?

Is 5% OK and still not a lie or misdirection?

Or is staying closer to the facts, yet distorting the meaning even worse (by it's believability) than blatant falsehoods?

I inquiring minds want to know:evilg:

I would think by now that its obvious that members of both parties BS the people equally...one would be foolish to think otherwise...they are all politicians for Christs sake!

Yes, but the big debate here, is whether the percentage is 51-49%, or is it 52-48%

:silly:

The lies told by the Republican leadership is really just a symptom. The Republican base simply doesn't know what credibility is. They are programmed by Republican radio and a gaggle of other sources who broadcast the same nonsense.

Iraq had WMDs

If we don't invade Iraq there will be mushroom clouds

Iraq is where Al Qaida is from

Tax cuts always increase tax revenues and they did in 2001 and 2003

Social Security is going to fail any year now

Obama is a muslim

Obama wasn't born in the USA

There is a video tape of Michelle Obama going on a racist tirade against white people

Obama is going to outlaw guns and erase the second amendment

Obama quadroupled the deficit

Cap and trade will drastically increase your taxes and energy bills

Obama wants to decide who lives and who dies and the new healthcare bill will give him the power to do that

Iraq had WMDs

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."

President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998.

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998.

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."

Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."

Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002.

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seing and developing weapons of mass destruction."

Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002.

If we don't invade Iraq there will be mushroom clouds

"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years . We also should remember we have alway s underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."

Sen. Jay Rockerfeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002

Iraq is where Al Qaida is from

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."

Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

Of the three choices, Both major parties are about the same

is the only intelligent choice.

If you chose either of the other two, then you might have a winning malpractice suit, for your botched lobotomy.

Easily libertarians (and no, not being sarcastic)
libertarians

Whatever...

Normally, its the party not in power for those 4+ years.

With the party "in" power defending their party even if they've said the same thing earlier.

The LaRouche party is insane though.

GOP hints Dems would deny Republicans health care

Oh yeah, because the Democrats surely match the pace of the GOP.

When was the last time a Democrat talked about a hunting license to hunt a President?

When was the last time Democrats threatened to secede from the US?

Oh, and I am sure the Democrats claims that millions of Americans are uninsured is equitable to the claims that ObamaCare means euthanasia.

I would think you would need to be lobotomized to miss the rubbish coming from the right-wing.

I voted for both, but I would like to mention one glaring dem fear mongering technique that has gone unmentioned so far.

Man made global warming.

We have to limit our carbon emissions or humanity will end in the next 50-100 years!

That isn't fear-mongering. That is a position expressed by the leading scientists in the world. It isn't fear mongering when a real an actual threat is discussed and highlighted.

The fear mongering I see is from people who claim that global warming warnings is an effort to install a global government. "The environmentalists want to set up a fascist state!"

Too easy. Democrats.

Shall we compare notes?

Oh, so the Obama is a Socialist, Muslim, Kenyan, Hitler-like black liberation communist community organizer radical who wants to seize your guns, kill your grandmother, take away your freedoms has its comparison with the Democrats?

Here is the problem -- a lot of people believe this stuff, so they don't see it as "fear mongering." The hear it as the truth. That is why we have this strange disconnect between borderline crazy language from the right-wing and those who adhere to their sentiments.

"Oh, when the Texans threaten to secede, they are just expressing their anger!"

"Glenn Beck saying that the President deeply hates white people is the truth!"

"Obama really does follow a death cult and supports euthanasia! It is the new Darwinism."

"As a matter of fact, Obama is a socialist."

Yes, during the Iraqi war, some people on the left (and the right -- look at the Alex Jones crowd) said some nasty stuff about Bush, but it never reached the insanity we are seeing at this time. We you have Glenn Beck telling us that AmeriCorp is going to morph into a fascist, Sturmabteilung-like organization, an idea that people actually believe . . . this country has lost its mind.

Oh wait - yeah. The Democrats pushing health care is surely just as bad, right?
