Patriot Act/Domestic Spying Torture The McCain campaign with Sarah and her pithy lies that were repeated ad nauseum by her supporters. Now the Health Care debate. And those are just the biggies. It isn't fear mongering when a real an actual threat is discussed and highlighted. Yes, during the Iraqi war, some people on the left (and the right -- look at the Alex Jones crowd) said some nasty stuff about Bush, but it never reached the insanity we are seeing at this time. We you have Glenn Beck telling us that AmeriCorp is going to morph into a fascist, Sturmabteilung-like organization, an idea that people actually believe . . . this country has lost its mind.
