Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA (2 years old) Heavy Seas Peg Leg (3 years old) Flying Dog Double Dog (3 years old) The Flying Dog Double Dog just won the Washington Post's tournament for best local beer. Heavy Seas had a couple beers in there, but the Loose Cannon wasn't in there. Awesome that my favorite beer won, but Loose Cannon is #2 to me. d0ublestr0ker0ll Posted May 12, 2013 Share Posted May 12, 2013 The Heavy Seas Peg Leg - age it. Amazing at 3 years old. Lost the sort of spritsy feel and weak toffee note. Became a dark chocolate malty delight. I put 2 more in the cellar from the fresh pack. The 2 year old Dogfish Head 90 lacked malt and became very grapefruity. Big flavor adjustment, but I preferred the fresh one slightly more. Tonight its Sierra Nevada Torpedo, Heavy Seas Gold Ale, and Flying Dog Snake Dog. I also like their blonde ale. Any suggestions for other Saisons that I should try? Has to be my favorite DIPA to date I talked about it earlier in the thread for the amount of IBU (~120) it is incredibly well balanced and easy to drink. She never believed me, so I did the equivilent of Luke going to the dark side and bought a 6 pack of O'doul's Amber non-alcoholic brew. I of course covered my ass and bought a bottle of Raging B***h, can't put all my chips in to a baby's beer. I take that back, I actually enjoy this stuff. Caramelly, toasty, nutty flavor peaks out when you breath through your nose. Definetly got to take giant swigs, and having no buzz is hilarious. That's sort of the point, to improve health. And before all you beer snobs go off on me (muhaha!), I have a bottle of Russell's Reserve 10 year old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey to go with that Raging B***h when the time is right.
