clearly not, God is on the side of Palin and McCain, if you don't believe me just ask her.

Which means what when McCain Palin loses?

Republicans against god! he didn't win us the election!

Well, he was obviously never a real Republican, anyway.

Speaking as someone that isn't voting for either Obama or McCain, I must admit that I was impressed with the specificity and overall 'goals' Obama outlined in this presentation. I thought it was very well put together and will probably have at least a minimal effect for some undecideds. There is a part of me that really hopes Obama will be true to his words and be as honest as he makes out to be.

I liked it.

I liked the positive theme.

I liked the "endorsements". (I was wondering if Colin Powell was gonna show up when he talked about Defense.)

Main reason I watched was that I was afraid it was going to be a half-hour infomercial version of the same smears that FactCheck debunked two months ago. But it wasn't.

So the TV networks should just give up that million dollars they made?

If McCain had been smart he would have followed Barack and taken public financing, it clearly hasn't hurt Obama that he flip-flopped on that issue.

McCain made a promise and stuck with it. I still am not voting for him, but at least he is genuine enough to do that. Senator Obama made the same promise, then decided against it when he realized he could buy an election.

Does it not bother anyone that he is spending a half billion dollars? This would bother me no matter who spent it. Both candidates should draw from an equal amount of money and let the person who best states their case win.

It doesn't bother me, the donations are coming from the American people, who want him to use it to win the election.

To each their own. I just think there should be a pool for the candidates to pull from, divided equally among them.

Candidates should stand on the strength of their platform, not on the number of ads they can purchase.

Yeah the positivity of it really impressed me as well. I was thinking he would at least address some of these silly things, but it looks like he decided to simply move forward. :applause:

The possibility of this country moving forward in productive ways is extremely exciting.

It doesn't bother me one bit if alot of people want to donate their money for him to be President. Obama isn't only going to win this election because he has more money than the other guy.

Besides I don't see anyone complaining that McCain promised to run an honorable campaign. Where's the outrage for him not keeping his word?

yes, I will watch. I want to see what the next president has to say.

What a load of crapola that thing was. I turned it off after the first example he used.

let me get this straight. This lady and her husband are a single income family. He works at a Tire-refurnishing factory. yet they decide they are going to have 4 kids I believe????

I feel these people are part of the problem. If you know you don't have the money to support 4 children plus yourself.. then why have them? If their financial system in their home couldn't support 4 children.. then its 100 percent their fault if things get tough on them.

I just think its a poor example and bad message to send.

If you mess up and your life is hard because YOU made it that way. Obama will bail you out.

What about the responsible people that work hard, make decent money but atleast know enough to not have 4 kids on a small income?

whatever guess thats the direction our country is headed.. americans always living way outside their means.

I was playing cards. I tried to watch it, but right at the beginning when Obama said he was going to lower taxes on families making 200K (down from 250K), one of the guys there blew his top & proceeded to ***** & moan until it was over.

So I didn't get to watch as much of it as I wanted......

This is why we need election campaign finance reform. You have this guy with so much money that he can buy up 30 mins of air time that no one else can afford running for pres.

Becuase of his money he gets more time and space to talk to more people.

Regardless of party this is wrong.

This sort of thing should be offered free of charge to every candidate running in a recognized party, to offer the people as Obama says an unfiltered venue to the american people.

I don't know man. I'm not really feeling the Fairness Doctrine at all. But hey, what do I know.

It's a fair question. Unfortunately there is no ideal solution. Are we to be like China and force families to limit how many children they have? No. Are we going to let people starve because they made poor decisions? No.

I love how republicans are suddenly for publically funded campaigns and finance reform. I remember 04 and this was decidedly NOT the case then. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Apparently you didn't watch what you just complained about or you were too busy writing this post during it that you didn't comprehend the problem.

It was about health care.

They didn't have financial problems until he retired, which made his wife's medication too expensive to afford, due to his retirement.

The number of kids they had, had nothing to do with their financial problems.

I'm glad you turned it off because you probably would have misunderstood all the rest of the stories as well and made a post about each.

Yeah, the irony is pretty amusing with that.

Also...why would McCain even NEED 30 minutes? How many times can you really yell "SOCIALIST!!", "BILL AYERS!!" and "JOE THE PLUMBER!!" in half an hour without losing your voice? Though I have to admit 30 minutes of John McCain just yelling into the camera would be quality entertainment.

You forgot to add the "I'm Joe Mama" that Palin yelled at a rally. I still can't believe that airhead actually said that.

Agreed. I love how Obama is telling middle class Americans how he wants to give them all this money, yet he has raised over 600 MILLION dollars that could be better spent. Why doesn't he use even 100 million of that for something important??? It's a waste of money.

People donated his campaign that money to do what he needs to do to get in office. That's is the MOST IMPORTANT thing he can do as far as I am concerned.

Obama NEVER said he would lower taxes on those making under 250k. What he has ALWAYS said is that NO one making under 250k would see their taxes increase even 1 penny, and those making under 200k would see a drop....
