Tour of Duty
I usually go to Vegas about 3-4 times a year and have never been to Atlantic City. I was wondering if I should switch it up one of these days and try Atlantic City. Is it worth traveling across the country? A few people have told me it's kind of a dump and there is lots of old people there. But I've also heard good things as well. Since mostly everyone here is from the east coast I figured I would get your opinions. Thanks.
sacase
Since you have been to Vegas, don't waste your time going to AC. If you have never been to Vegas, you can have fun in AC, but once you been to Vegas, AC is like going to an indian reservation.
TMK9973
AC to vegas is high school football to NFL Playoff games. Yes -It's still football, but it sure doesn't seem to be the same game.
JeffSchmeff
AC is like a white trash version of Vegas. Don't waste your time.
BigMike619
you can compare reno to AC but NEVER can you compare the mecca of lights and glitz to anything else.. you really need to go in order to truly appreciate it.
Koolblue13
No comparison. I lived in Vegas and grew up an hour or so away from AC. If you have the choice between a 5 hour car ride or a 5 hour flight, get on the plane. On of the regular posters lives there now, but I can't say who it is with any accuracy. PleaseBlitz
In keeping with the theme of this thread. AC is to Vegas is what a fart is to a Class 5 hurricane. Not nearly the potential for chaos and a lot smellier.
Tour of Duty
Wow, I didnt know there was that big a difference. Well I guess it's Vegas again. Thanks
Gracelander
Stick with Vegas, I'm there twice a year myself. Even if I don't gamble much the atmostphere is electric. AC to me was like Ocean City with slot machines. If you get the chance, try Tunica Mississippi. The place is growing and it's right down in the delta. Very nice place (plus 45 minz from Graceland)
A Walton
Unless you live on the East Coast there is ZERO reason for you to visit AC. That being said, the Borgata is as nice as anything in Vegas right now.

That being said, the Borgata is as nice as anything in Vegas right now. I agree with this. I don't think AC is as bad as some people say. It definitly doesn't have all the entertainment and club scene as Vegas, but if you are gaming it doesn't matter where in the country you are, you see a green felt table and no windows. BigMike619
I saw Manny fight Morales in Vegas a few years ago. Epic battle. there is always something to do there and you can always find trouble. plus the brothels are right there...
PleaseBlitz
If you want to be on this side of the continent and go to a fun town where you can gamble, Montreal is where you want to be.
IbleedBnG83
AC is like a white trash version of Vegas. Don't waste your time. If AC is white trash, then what does that make Vegas?...trailer trash...one in the same if you ask me. Vegas is still definately better.

Actually the Tropicana is just as nice now, with their new little mall inside and all of the resteraunts, my :2cents: Its the only other place i would stay at along with the Borgota
macnoke03
If you want to be on this side of the continent and go to a fun town where you can gamble, Montreal is where you want to be. I remember somebody telling me that Montreal has amazingly beautiful women, or is that just in the strip clubs?
aszumilo
I live in Vegas and have been to AC several times, for business. There is no comparison. Besides, maybe, the Borgota, most of the casinos are dumps, IMO. Besides the casinos, you have the beach and not much else to do there. If I had a choice, I would have never gone back to AC a second time.
HogNose
Don't waste your time, unless you happen to be in Philly someday and can make a day trip to Atlantic City. AC isn't as bad as it was in the late 80's, early 90's but it is still kind of dumpy. Deciding to check out AC after being to Vegas, is like leaving Santa Monica Pier and checking out a shoddy pier at Virginia Beach. It's just not the same. PleaseBlitz
I remember somebody telling me that Montreal has amazingly beautiful women, or is that just in the strip clubs? Its true. The women in Montreal have to pass some sort of minimum hotness requirement.
Lombardi's_kid_brother
The Borgata is worth seeing if you are within a four hour car ride of AC. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit though.
praise_gibbs
You can't compare the two. Have never been to Vegas, I can't say why it would be any better than AC. Obviously much bigger in comparison. Me though? I don't like gambling all that much (here and there is fine). So, AC is where I would go to stay away from losing money. Borgata-VS-Tropicana? Sorry Borgata lovers but, besides the Borgata Babes, it can't hold the Trops jock. I have been on this site talking about the Quarter enough times already. So I won't go into that again. Just that you MuST go when you visit AC. Of course, the Quarter is inside the Tropicana. Google it if you are not familar. As for there being nothing to do in AC besides Casinos and the beach? I'd recommend that you visit AC again. But open you eyes this time. Lol There is nightlife in AC. Night clubs, strip clubs, shopping (if that is your thing. If not, your lady would love shopping here. 'The Walk' is flooded with outlet stores. As is the Quarter). Is Vegas better than AC? Depends who you ask. If you want a scaled down fun weekend... AC is your place.
praise_gibbs
AC is like a white trash version of Vegas. Don't waste your time. If I remember correctly, this isn't you first time making a ignorant statement about AC. I swear you got your ass kicked here and now have a negative taste in your mouth. Haha Glad to see that you think I am white trash though.
