MissU28
random, but.... Do you peel those little strings on bananas before you eat them? Do you eat the ENTIRE banana? I used to pull the strings, but just eat 'em now. I only eat about 95% of the banana...I never eat the bottom nub. Gross. Your thoughts?

PleaseBlitz
Most of the banana's i eat are blended into shakes, so i dont worry about the strings.
Stophovr6
I don't eat the strings. But I do peel my banana upside down. It gives you a nice handle so the last bite you don't have to struggle for.
Beauty is Only
The best bananas are brown-spotted and deep yellow. I hate the bananas that still have green on them. They taste like grass. From what I understand, bananas are at their optimal nutrition level when they're a bit overripe. The sweeter the better.
China
By the way, the term I coined for those strings on a banana is monkey floss.

JimmyConway
I used to pull the 'monkey floss (thanks China)' off as well but I'm too lazy now.
pjfootballer
I eat the peel. That's where the real nutrients are.
mbws
Put me down for pulling off the strings. BTW the nub at the bottom, that looks like an anus is called the ban-anus. 8)

Mark The Homer
The best bananas are brown-spotted and deep yellow. I hate the bananas that still have green on them. They taste like grass. From what I understand, bananas are at their optimal nutrition level when they're a bit overripe. The sweeter the better. I prefer bananas just barely past the green stage. When I see a spot or two, I don't want them. Too mushy. My wife makes banana bread out of those.
Destino
Like PB almost all the bananas I eat are blended into shakes. Monkey floss isn't a problem for me.
MissU28
but do you all eat the ENTIRE banana? I seriously won't eat that little nub with the brown thing at the bottom. Do some people eat this? Am I the majority or minority with this?

Drop
I prefer bananas just barely past the green stage. When I see a spot or two, I don't want them. Too mushy. My wife makes banana bread out of those. i agree...i even like them with a hint of green still on them. but not too much, if the banana is too firm it's just nasty. but never, ever with brown spots on the peel once the banana has gotten all gross and mushy.
