StillUnknown
it would make alot of sense for the winner of this fight to replace Belcher against Maia, provided the winner is not hurt

Scary ****. Happened to both her eyes. Double surgery on each. Two years later and she still get get insurance. We need a true socialist in the White House.... /hijack. I want to see you put the sharpshooter on someone. Soooooo close to happening. 7 fights in to the 10 fight card some guy gets sits in the seat in front of me and starts booing I made him look like an idiot and he wasn't happy about it. Nice Anchorman reference too Bones was on the radio here a couple days ago and closed with the same line.
NoCalMike
Nice to see Okami and Gomi get two big impressive wins. I thought Okami should have been Unanimous but oh well. To me, it makes Japanese MMA that much more fun to watch and follow when their top fighters have a realistic chance at branching out and coming overseas to challenge the top competition over here. Sakuraba was probably the last Japanese fighter to routinely beat competition from around the world. With Okami and Gomi doing well, and Aoki trying to get to that level, could be good stuff on the horizon. Also, yeah Jon Jones continues to impress. He has an Anderson Silva type build to him, which is going to give him huge advantages in most matches. Will be interesting to continue to watch him train and grow as a fighter. I wonder who he gets next in a fight that will almost certainly be a step up in competition.
Chachie
Howard, Griffin, Munoz, Bones. Well I'm an idiot. Of course Bones won. He fought a senior citizen. Other than that I picked all the losers. It was great to see Gomi get the sweet KO but I still think he'll have problems with people who grapple him. Tyson Griffin was fool to play Gomi's game. The Fireball Kid does throw cement blocks though. Griffin fell on his face.
StillUnknown
http://mmajunkie.com/news/20141/nate-marquardt-vs-rousimar-palhares-moved-to-ufc-fight-night-22-main-event-slot.mma A middleweight bout between Nate Marquardt (29-9-2 MMA, 8-3 UFC) and Rousimar Palhares (11-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) initially scheduled for UFC 118 has been moved to UFC Fight Night 22 and now serves as the night's main event.Sources close to the event today confirmed the change with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). The UFC Fight Night 22 headliner slot opened when Alan Belcher was forced out of his bout with Demian Maia due to detached retina that required surgery. UFC 118 takes place Aug. 28 in Boston, so UFC Fight Night 22 – which takes place Sept. 15 – will give the Marquardt and Palhares an extra two-and-a-half weeks of camp time. The Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, hosts to their Spike TV-televised event. It's not clear if Maia will remain on the UFC Fight Night 22 card. It's also not known how UFC officials will fill UFC 118's vacant main-card slot now that Marquardt vs. Palhares has been removed from the pay-per-view card. Marquardt looks to rebound from a unanimous-decision loss to now-top contender Chael Sonnen, which came at UFC 109 in February. The loss, which propelled Sonnen to his title shot, snapped Marquardt's three-fight win streak (against Martin Kampmann, Wilso Gouveia and Maia – all of which came via knockout) and delivered a setback in his quest for a second title shot against current champ Anderson Silva. The Team Jackson fighter now meets Palhares, who looks for his fourth consecutive victory in the UFC. During his recent streak, the Brazilian Top Team fighter earned a decision victory over Jeremy Horn and heel-hook submission wins over Lucio Linhares and Tomasz Drwal. He's now won nine of his past 10 fights, and eight of the victories have come via stoppage.

Destino
With that win Bones Jones should be two fights out of a possible title shot. Give him Rich Franklin and if he wins give him the 3rd or 4th best fighter in the weight class. That would be Lyoto Machida or Rampage Jackson. If he wins both he should get a title shot. Getting past Franklin and Machida/Rampage is no easy task though. Especially if he has to fight Machida who could very easily frustrate a young fighter. lovetoaster
Yeah, Franklin and Thiago Silva are the only guys that make sense right now, IMO. I would love to see Jones-Thiago, I just do not know how long his back is going to keep him out. Watch it be someone like Brilz or Luis Cane.
