I went to see Pat Barry's first kickboxing fight in 7 years here in Richmond last night. I think this was a tune up fight for when he joins Glory in May since it was under Glory Rules. He looked rusty and tentative in the first round but covered up well when his opponent blitzed him. I'm real pumped for this fight tonight getting to see Mousasi finally face an elite opponent after the Gustafsson fight fell through. I think part of the reason he always looked so lackadaisical is because he never faced an opponent that truly tested him. I think him putting in the work to get down to the right weight class is evidence enough that he is now taking a more serious approach to fighting.

No love for Mousasi? I've been wanting to see him in the UFC for a long time now. He has high level striking and a good submission game as well. Obviously his weakness is wrestling but he has committed full time to training in the States with wrestlers in the last year.

Hoping this means we get to see JDS vs Overeem in 2013 if Overeem beats Big Foot on Super Bowl weekend. I've been waiting for that fight for years now and a lot of smack talk has gone on which would create a great grudge match not to mention a stand up war.
