Well both Henderson and Wanderlei haven't won in the UFC since returning and by the time May rolls around, Rampage will have defended his title a grand total of 1 time within a year.

Did Pride test for steroids? Because some of the guys like Wanderlei and Shogun don't look as buff as they were in Pride and they obviously look flat in the ring.

Considering Hendo faced rampage and then Silva, I don't really knock him for those losses and Wandy fought a hard battle with Chuck. And I have no idea about Prides steroid policy.

I wasn't trying to knock them or anything I was just pointing it out. On this MMA radio show I listen to someone called in and brought up how guys like Wanderlei and Shogun looked out of shape and flat and was blaming it on a lax steroid policy at Pride, I'm curious to find out.

The fighters will tell you they were tested in Pride. I don't think there is any documentation of it though.

Other than Jackson and Silva, all the older vets have come over to UFC very flat. Rua had a trick knee though. I bet he couldn't rehab it with steroids in the UFC so he had to get in and fight on one leg.

That may be where the lax part enters the picture in Pride. Maybe they were not so tough on using roids for injury.(?) Just a thought.

For ligament damage, wouldn't HGH work better?

Mag! Long time no see. :)

I actually have no idea. I was just putting it out there for someone with more knowledge to offer their opinion.

Been traveling way too much...To locations with limited...Well...Everything, to include access to the internets.

As for knowledge on this subject, I'm definitely NOT someone with expert opinion. However, I have heard/read about the benefits of HGH injections for people with ligament damage in their knees.

Thanks for the JZ link Sebowski! I wish I understood Japanese...what the hell happened? That was the longest injury timeout I've ever seen. Was it because of an illegal strike? The elbows looked clean to me, none of them hit the top/back of Aoki's head or his spine. I'm lost.

Anyone have a link to Luigi Fioravanti's fight? It was on the most recent UFC PPV Fight Card, but they didn't show it. Instead they showed Sakara losing. American Top Team has 2 fighters on the card and they only show one of the fights, the loss. Absolute crap.

It's well known that Pride didn't give a rats ass about steroid enforcement. They may have tested but that doesn't mean they did anything about it. Baroni? Mr Roid himself, that's why he'll never fight in the UFC. Guy can't get it done without the juice.

QBkiller, to answer your question, pride did not test for steroids. Pride was self regulated.

Look at photos of all the top names in pride and then look at them in the octagon. Wandy is the most obvious. shogun too.

Thanks for the info. That's what I suspected. Wandy was just too damn huge in Pride compared to now.

haha, doink!

I'm actually one who thinks Silva isn't the hardest guy to take down for elite fighters. Okami is a ground and pound specialist. Anderson shouldn't let that happen again against Okami. Okami was getting some shots in there. Anderson will most likely own him in their next fight, however, Okami cannot be underestimated when he gets on top of someone.

Good for Mark :applause:

Shapiro probably skimmed it and blew it off. What a little nerd-ass wannabe. He needs to do some actual research before he mouths off. Football, his favorite sport to write about, is completely and utterly more injury-riddled than MMA. Does he ever address that? His article is so pompously off base I don't even want to address it unless I can sit down with him and have a civil debate, which you know he'd be too insecure to do.
