  1. The thing is...Curtis Samuel is in theory the ideal opposite WR. Physical YAC receiver, excels in the short passing game. The health just wasn't there this year. No Fitz is brutal.
  2. Yeah...I gotta say, barely noticed Chase out of the game. Toohill played well. Coach said Shaka will get more opportunities too. The brightside with Chase is that his star has almost completely dimmed. Have to think the commercials and off-field business will dry up a bit. One can only hope he'll focus on being the best and learn his craft. The guy is all physical tools right now.
  3. Yeah...all the Blewitt apologists go grab a beer and rethink your life choices.
  4. It's still a consistent pattern of injury. Availability is key to being great. He's no Trent Williams, so it won't be a huge contract. Hardly notice he's gone watching the games. Think Charles is a guard too, so there's depth there for next year.
  5. Gibbs could have had another SB if he didn't make the dumbest trade of his career by trading up pre-draft and then not pick the falling 1b QB of the draft at #9. Let's not talk about the Rogers and Rodgers draft. It upsets me. On a positive note, there is always the possibility that Rodgers finishes his career here. Maybe 4-5 years, and a SB win (or two) would help me forget.
  6. As much as I said a new kicker was the priority bye week add, I was kinda hoping for a meltdown the next time out. 3 blocked kicks and an XP miss.
  7. He'll be famous though. Blewitt is his name.
  8. I think Scherff is one of those players who's in it to make the most money he can. Very much aware of the business aspect of it. Always got the sense he doesn't bleed football.
  9. 75% block rate. This team used to be a factory for kickers. Just sign the next guy like they used to, and maybe one gets away, but I have a really...really hard time thinking that guy is Blewitt.
  10. How many kickers in NFL history have had 3 of their first 4 FG attempts blocked? I don't think it can get worse.
  11. Honestly, a win would be as simple as a new kicker. Going out of the bye with Blewitt is a big L.
  12. I read this thread with a heavy heart... Many of you are so hopeful or desperate for change. Snyder will still be the owner 10 years from now.
  13. I'm okay with spending a premium Day 3 pick on teams. At least this team isn't selecting kickers on the first two days. In some ways, Apke is supporting Way's ability. Without Apke, more punts will be returned and farther. Field position is key for an inept offensive team. Would it be better to get these guys in the 6th round? Yes. For whatever reason, it's usually tough to find competence in this area.
  14. If they don't win against this Denver squad put a stake in this thing. I actually wouldn't be shocked. Denver D will shut down Heinicke and Co.
  15. They'll sign a FA that will off-set any potential pick. Sad really. Can't believe they tagged him this year.
  16. In a vacuum, it's not good. But he was a project and I like how they're phasing him into the role. When he trusts what he sees and goes, he's clearly the most talented backer. Tentative, gap control could be better, anticipation could be better, and he's been beat in the passing game too. However, the flashes are there and it looks like there is growth game-to-game. Ceiling is a top 5 ILB. Can't complain about the growing pains.
  17. The fact that I sometimes have these momentary feelings of dread when watching a 2-minute drive all leads back to Kirk taking a knee. Just beyond comprehension. We recently talked about the secondary not jumping for a hail mary jump ball vs the Saints as mindblowing, but Kirk's was next-F-in-level. The selfie bothered me at the time, but I had low expectations for Haskins. I haven't watched the most recent game yet to comment on Heinicke. Oh, and Frerotte's was a dumb celebration that got him injured. Not the difference in his career, imo. Not sure where it stands for me as it was before my fan days.
  18. You said it. That's not even an "NFL throw" the way the deep out to the far sideline is for QBs. Missing the throw by that much is just terrible. You want to overthrow that to the back pylon, if anything. Shows that he lacks some situational awareness.
  19. Yeah... that's an awful throw.
  20. I appreciate the optimism in here re: Snyder, but.... The positive will be when they move back to DC, which will happen now that the name will be different. The old RFK site is ideally situated.
