  1. I'm not worried about the secondary getting right. Jackson does look he's improving with experience in this D. Even Fuller was competitive on a number of plays against their best last week. Until Chase gets his head in the game, I'm not optimistic.
  2. He might flex his value up to 2/3rds of the market like Keenum did that one time. There were quite a few throws that could have been picked last week. I think we need more time to see if TH can speed up his decisions/actions and improve the timing on throws. If he doesn't anticipate better, teams will start getting those turnovers. Either way, I think he maxes out at 25/yr with an All-Pro type year and that's not in the cards from what I can see.
  3. Once Collins moves on, Curl takes over at SS and Hudson becomes the Buffalo Nickel. It's a good spot for him, mostly starting next year. Phased in this year, evidently.
  4. He was the QB. Sky high expectations and results and then the fallout with drama. It's not weird. Every once and a while when the team is driving late in a half, I'm half-dreading an accidental kneel down. Cousins will stick with me.
  5. Hurts is awful, but great receiving options. Hargreaves and a couple good secondary pieces on D, but ultimately they look like a levy that will break. Giants are uninspiring offensively because of their QB. But they will get better. Toney is a jitterbug, and there's Holladay, and Barkley now healthy. Their Dline and secondary feature a couple of really good, under rated players. Giants are probably still 3rd worst in the division, but there's not a ton separating them from Washington or a .500 team.
  6. Yes to Gilmore, but I am a bit leary of price. He's 31, how many years does he want? Y1 : $11 M Y2: $14M Y3: $17M Y4 dead cap $5M What are you getting into? But yes, for the next 2-3 years, I would take Gilmore. Jackson as your #2, Gilmore matching up with the best player and playing more slot as St Juste grows.
  7. They pointed it out on the broadcast too, which is always great to see. But yeah...picks him up late and levels him. Some Portis level stuff right there. Really impressed with his play this last game.
  8. Del Rio has one of the most impressive DC resumes in the league. Y'all need to check yourselves. Players gotta play. I see extra-man and zone blitzes. I see stunts. Turner and Del Rio are both doing a great job.
  9. He landed on him and that is against the rules. What are you seeing? Other players/teams can figure it out... I don't think it'll be this year. Seems like coaches have to handhold him through studying tape. He probably needs the down year and the criticism to put in the work. Hopefully, this is the ego-check year. Not studying, or learning new moves, doesn't allow you to master your craft. Terry mastered his craft, and clearly has worked each off-season to improve his game. Chase worked on range of motion in his ankles/feet/toes to reduce injuries. He's that super talented individual that's always had it easy. Coast his way to the top, but the competition in the NFL is top notch. We're going to see what he's made of in the next year.
  10. But he wants to be the "LeBron of Football", the guy people think about when they think of the NFL. That was what we heard. This isn't the LeBron of Football we're watching.
  11. I, too, see them losing. No quick fixes on O or on D. 31-23 Atlanta 4 TDs and a FG, or 2 TDs and 4 FGs kind of day for Atlanta, I'm gonna guess. Offense could surprise with a handful of impact plays from Samuel, but I have little confidence in the D figuring things out in the next couple weeks.
  12. You're not wrong. Davis being a bit raw for a first rounder is okay for me because he's a future captain. I'm a bit surprised they didn't spend some future draft capital for a vet leader at LB. I get the logic in thinking that you can survive with the DL and Holcomb, but it just hasn't worked out. The defense probably doesn't turn around until Davis > Bostic Curl > Collins Depth is so weak on D.
  13. He was talking about the touchdown 1:38-2:25 in that clip to me was the rough part. "I took an inside move and I beat the tackle...someone has to come cover it." So, he did a move that brought him out of position and expects his DT to adapt and cover for him. "We got to communicate more. Where my tackle getting. Being more specific while communicating." Spoiler: Your tackle was getting to the QB.
  14. Chase..... ...is it really you?
  15. It looks like Payne's staying in his lane/gap like the others... There were a couple of plays he was a inside of where he should of been, but that was as he was a step or two away from the QB. On those plays, if Young has a better line Payne actually gifts him a couple of pressures/sacks.
  16. Chase doesn't get it. He runs bad lines - confirmed by former players - and blames the other guy for not adapting to him. This is an immature leader. We're going to see growing pains this year.
  17. https://twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1OdKrBEANmOKX?s=09 That was brutal, to me. Took the TD play that Marcus Spears called him out on and said it was Payne's fault for not covering him after he went inside. Never fond of passing the buck.
  18. This should probably go in here too. Marcus Spears and Baldy calling him out.
  19. Spears got passionate man. Chase playing selfishly and calling out others. Not a good look.
  20. He was drafted to play LT, and has the athleticism for it. The team, smartly, are taking the growing pains on the front side.
  21. Payne playing that way every game would be a game changer. That would be two years where Chase would 'thrive' in the second half. Remember the talk of him not being at voluntary workouts...maybe his conditioning is the issue. It all comes down to Chase not playing up to his ability and position. See below:
  22. Disclaimer: not strictly correct because drives happen between quarters. Q1: 6 plays, 36 yds. 2 possessions: Punt and fumble. TOP 3:37 Q2: 17 plays, 135 yds. 5 possessions: Interception, Touchdown, Touchdown, Punt, Punt. TOP 7:34 Q3: 10 plays, 26 yds. 3 possessions: Punt, Interception, Punt. TOP 5:02 Q4: 17 plays, 90 yds. 2 possessions. Turnover on downs, Touchdown. TOP 8:10 Even in their best quarter, it wasn't until the 2nd touchdown drive that the defense got a breather. They weren't good anyway - outside of a dominant Payne - but the offense needs to control the tempo and time of a game. They had all the cardinal sins on offense going: short possessions, turnovers, and bad decision making at QB. Por que no Tress Way? Hmm... that's an interesting take.
