  1. Jamin did not have the starting DL in front if him. If he is invisible w them out there, I’ll be worried
  2. Agreed. I am of the belief that when you draft, you want your draft picks to have a strong line of sight to making the roster as well. This is why I never understood drafting both Henry and Jones given the depth we already have at the position. I get that all those guys are FAs after next year; however, you can just draft another reserve EDGE next year if depth is an issue. Given the lack of depth at off ball LB, I was disappointed they didn't take Pace or Soelle. Both those guys would have had a very good chance of making the roster and upgrading the depth.
  3. They are using a new org chart where they are having the veteran position coaches serve as a mid level managers and having them oversee more. Castillo is the TE coach but OL also rolls up to him on the org chart. This apparently is what KC does. Jason Peters is still out there and has played for Castillo with the Eagles and with the Bears. At his age, his days as a full time starter are over. However, he was good last year as a part time player for the Cowboys who played both tackle and guard. The thing with him is be probably does not want to do training camp and is likely waiting after it ends to go sign with a team. If he takes half the snaps at RT and plays a bit of guard, that would be very helpful here. Allows you to then IR Daniels.
  4. Ta'amu would easily be a better 3rd QB than Fromm and has been with EB twice in KC. He knows the system and offers a whole hell of a lot more.
  5. They may just have to start Lucas at RT and play Wylie at LG. Leno/Wylie/Gates/Cosmi/Lucas is your best 5. The scary thing is there is no tackle depth behind Lucas - you'd have to move either Cosmi or Wylie to tackle if Lucas were to get hurt.
  6. If you IR him now, you can't recall him for later in the season. If it came to it, would have to wait until after cutdown day to IR him and then resign a guy you cut
  7. He can't get sent down. He will have to be DFAed
  8. Caught up with one of my best friends over the weekend. We were catching up regarding a mutual friend I lost touch with but he has kept up with. Said friend used to work closely with Josh Harris and Marc Rowan at Apollo. My friend told me that this friend told him that Josh Harris was a control freak and a bit of a bully to work with. A core underlying reason why Harris lets his GMs and coaches generally do their thing is because he is busy trying to start a new version of Apollo (which includes starting a captive insurance outfit)
  9. I wanted to dislike her because she was a Tanya hire and Cooley departed shortly after she was hired. However, Logan Paulsen has really gotten his chance under her tenure and he’s fantastic. You are right - these videos they have been putting out there have been fantastic as well
  10. Random thought: I wish this team had traded the 2nd round pick + the 3rd round comp pick and moved up to take Bergeron.
  11. Being based in Miami now, I am likely going travel to Tampa to catch one of the games in the upcoming series
  12. I don’t think anyone on this board loved the Phil pick. It was a reach first of all and was forced because they screwed up their planning for depth. Truth be told, I wanted Brisker or a LB as that was a LB heavy draft (imagine a 2nd year Troy Andersen running w Jamin - would’ve been the most athletic LB duo in the league) If we were to redraft, I bet many here would have taken Parham, Lucas or Fortner
  13. Bradfield has a very different profile than the guys they have taken in the past who are more COFs with power. Think of Bradfield as potentially Juan Pierre with more power. The guy has elite 80 speed and is a beast on the basepaths. Absolute floor to me is as a 4th outfielder. If he can improve his hitting technique a bit, he is the Mullins replacement in a couple years. Very interesting that generally Elias focused on center fielder types and college relief arms in this draft. While some of these arms have much to work on, others like Sharkey could move quickly
  14. The Bulls do feel like this team the past few years. Apparently Lavine and Derozan don’t get along and Lonzo’s career appears to be over You are probably right about the Magic being better. Bridges does appear to be coming back for the Hornets and they will have Lamelo and Miller
  15. I don’t know why anyone thinks adding Kuz back removes them from the running for a top 3 pick. When you look at the rest of the Eastern conference, outside of the Magic, this may still be the worst roster. I think we learned the past couple years that Kuz is a great locker room guy (if you were not Dinwiddie lol), a hard worker and an easy guy to root for. It was also obvious he wanted to be here and he loves DC. With the 4th year, he is not a guy who will be easy to move this trade deadline but he will be movable next offseason or the offseason after if his game does not fall off. Now why did they retain Kuz instead of KP? It is because the latter is a ticking time bomb when it comes to injuries. Lest we forget that the Mavs threw in a second for us to take on KP for Dinwiddie and Bertans
  16. Hoffman is the one of the few in the local media to ask the tough questions during an interview. I give him a lot of credit for having a pair unlike Sheehan who sucks up to folks he interviews even when he bashes them outside of an interview. Hoffman destroyed Tommy Sheppard, the Wizards’ GM at the time, by asking him straightforward questions a few months ago
  17. Hoffman is a gem and he is the sharpest radio host personality type we have in this market. The only one who compares at that level is Galdi and I feel Galdi lacks the football and scheme intelligence Hoffman has
  18. When Dawkins was on Sheehan's show this morning, he kept on stressing Bilal's character traits as well. They think he is a worker
  19. For a contender, Jones holds more value than any of the Magic guys they trade. He has the rep of being the best backup PG in the league and he is a very efficient player.
  20. What makes you think they are going to pull off 30 wins? There is no one on this team, as it stands, who has been a consistent NBA starter outside of old man Gallo. I could’ve seen 30 wins if they kept CP3 and Porzingis but doubt it happens now
  21. They should focus on trading Jones. He is not going to resign here and his current salary is relatively cheap. Kind of surprising to me they couldn’t finagle something out of the Lakers or Clippers for him predraft. Of the guys on the roster, he brings in max value in my opinion DA seemed to imply they were hoping for Anthony Black but the Magic messed that up for them, taking him at #6. At that point, it became obvious who they should take given Whitmore’s medicals. I totally buy that Indy was getting interest in the pick from other teams for Bilal - easy call for Indy to make the first call to us given they must have really wanted Walker and trading down 1 pick guaranteed they could still get him
  22. They probably move one of Morris, Wright and Jones soon. I hope they don’t sell low on Jones. He’s a guy they should get a first for, whether it is now or the deadline
  23. The good news is that Clips gave their pick and are indicating a need for a guard given the interest in Brogdon before they got worried about his medicals. The rumor is they cooled off on CP3 once they got wind that Westbrook was less likely to resign for the minimum if CP3 came aboard. Jones is a perfect guy to send to the Clips for Morris or Covington and the 30th pick. Jones is clearly a starting level PG but can still come off the bench and allow Russ to stay and start
