  1. Regarding Forbes, let’s remember that his being out there means BSJ becomes the slot corner so you couldn’t put BSJ on Brown in those times. They could have rotated Fuller on to Brown and had Forbes on Smith
  2. I disagree on Sheehan. Yes the “wait and see” thing was his official take but, all offseason, he went about listing reasons why Howell wouldn’t workout. I don’t think I ever heard reasons for why it would. The guy who took the perfect approach was Keim. Wait and see was his official take too but we got/have gotten a balanced approach from him
  3. They could grab a guy from the KC front office to be GM and let EB be HC. I was thinking about it this morning and, besides Ben Johnson, there aren’t a lot of must have offensive minds out there
  4. Should’ve mentioned the other category is older LTs who are functional but you can’t depend on anymore like Smith, Duane Brown and Jason Peters If Howell is the guy, I may think about an aggressive move up for Fashanu or Alt.
  5. Legit starting tackles at reasonable prices rarely hit the market. Can’t depend on that. Need to focus on drafting a guy and trading picks if needed to get that guy
  6. I remember that from a year+ ago. His argument is that the metrics looked better than they truly were because Heinicke was doing a lot of quick passing game, much moreso than league average
  7. Where you contradict yourself a bit is, if you want to go with a heavy run game, Wylie is better for that than Lucas. He is a much better athlete. If the goal is a heavy pass mix, Lucas is a better fit for that
  8. If someone really studied it, there may be a bit of a difference in production between the interior guys and the tackles.
  9. When it comes to Ron, I agree with you on his screw ups at tackle. There weren’t many moves he could make this offseason but that was a bed of his own making from his failures in 2020-2022 Browns and Falcons are definitely better. Saints probably too due to the right side of their line. Titans (it is Skoronski and 4 bums), Giants (Thomas and 4 bums), Bears and Texans (been wo Tytus Howard so far) lines are comparable.
  10. My point was overall a macro point about the league as a whole. It amazes me just how bad some OLs are in terms of talent these days. My take is that building a quality interior is not particularly difficult but tackle has generally been tough for teams to fill.
  11. That Jets game could swing things and Ron has given us a surprise win over a much better team each of his three seasons so far. I do think they can use the “formula” from 2021 & 2022 to get to 9-8 or even 10-7 with a more capable passer in Sam vs Heinicke
  12. They have 6 games remaining on the schedule vs teams clearly better than them (Philly x2, Cowboys x2, Dolphins & SF) and 8 games remaining against teams on par or worse with them. In my mind, they have to come out of Week 11 at least 7-4 to have a realistic shot at the playoffs. This means beating the Bears, Falcons, Patriots, Seahawks and Giants at least once. Doable but daunting.
  13. Yep. Goes to the point others have made that a lot of our fans don’t realize how bad OL talent is around the league
  14. The other thing is that this is the best the run game has looked here since arguably the Shanahan days. It is clear that all these guys are better run blockers than pass blockers (except maybe Gates per stats @Skinsinparadise has cited). EB should acknowledge that he has above average overall run blocking personnel, a good run scheme and a back who has learned to be patient and use all this
  15. Leno, Charles and Cosmi are the top 3 on this OL and guys he inherited. Wylie and Gates are guys he brought in. Again, part of the issue, in my opinion, is coaching and these guys not playing in sync. Wharton is a first year lead OL coach and I know Castillo is helping but you probably need a veteran coach just focused on the line. We got away with similar or worse overall talent in 2020 and 2021 with Matsko and playcalling geared toward the OL’s deficiencies
  16. I am pro EB. Wylie is definitely on him and I would have to think Gates is at least partially on him - I doubt they would give him a center he didn’t want if this is a must win year. The disappointing thing is that Gates has been a solid starting center and I bet he continues to be if he were to leave here. Talent isn’t great but it is also Sam, the playcalling and overall coaching. Losing a veteran coach like Matsko hurt. It’s a bummer those two weren’t a fit
  17. Yep. Losing Moses was 100% controllable by Ron. The sad part too is that it seemed like Moses was the leader of that unit in 2020. As much as we complain about this year’s unit, let’s all remember that Geron Christian and Wes Martin started a bunch of games that year
  18. Again, the difference is this year they have Jalen Carter and a second year Jordan Davis. Running on them is going to be really hard
  19. The little bit of the game I was watching today, they were picking on Jobe
  20. What about the play design? That as a major issue with Turner
  21. Everyone should look at the OLs of the guys on that list and compare it to ours (ours is better or fairly equivalent to all those except Atlanta's and Cleveland's). Scheme and Howell holding the ball are definitely issues based on that basis.
  22. He's a guy who usually starts a season slow and then has a monster 2nd half of the season. In this case, I guess not having someone like a WJ3 or Landon Collins back there who drags down the entire secondary with him helps.
  23. The rope they gave William Jackson speaks to this unfortunately This is a reach. If you abide by this then the other teams can just binocular all the OCs who sit in booths
